Mazda officials later clarified that Mazda 6 decided not to accept new orders because of insufficient chip supply, so the Japanese market decided not to accept new orders, and the rest of the market was not affected.

Over the past few days, overseas media have exposed a new set of Mazda 6 imaginary maps. According to overseas media reports, the brand-new Mazda 6 (known as Atz in China) is scheduled to be launched in Japan by the end of this year, followed by Chang 'an Mazda or introduced into the Chinese market by Chang' an Mazda, and compete with Chevrolet Malibao XL, Buick Regal and Ford Mondeo.

From the exposure of the imaginary map, the new generation Mazda 6 is expected to refer to the overseas market Mazda CX-60 design style, but the overall body proportion will be reduced according to the car size. Specifically speaking, the front face adopts the popular large size air intake grille and the long and narrow headlights are connected to each other, and the interior of the grille is blackened and honeycomb-shaped. The side lines of the car body are smooth, and the coupe shape of the sliding back type is adopted. In terms of body size, it has been previously reported that the new Mazda 6 will be about 4900mm long, 2850mm wheelbase and weigh more than 1500 kg. At the rear of the car, the shape of the new car is relatively flat, the taillights use through-type taillights, the layout in the lamp group echoes with the headlights, and the exhaust adopts the exhaust layout with a total of four outlets on both sides.

Interior part, there is no relevant news exposure. However, according to foreign media reports, it is expected that the new car will continue to adopt Mazda CX-60 design style, the overall minimalist style.

In October 2021, foreign media reported that the new generation Mazda 6 will be unveiled in 2022. The new car will be built from RWD rear drive platform. The powertrain will be equipped with "SKYACTIV-X" 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline turbocharged engine +48 V light hybrid system and "SKYACTIV-D" 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel turbocharged engine +48 V light hybrid system.

This generation Mazda 6 has been greatly adjusted in appearance and interior, making the whole younger. One year after overseas listing, FAW Mazda introduced the second generation Mazda 6 to China in April 2009 and sold it in the same hall as the first generation model. The second-generation Mazda 6, renamed Ruiyi after its introduction into China, offers two models, a 4-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback. The engine includes 2.0L and 2.5L, and the combination is still 6-speed manual and 5-speed manual.

In 2013, the third-generation Mazda atenza was launched and imported into China in the same year. At the beginning of this year, Mazda said it would transform the brand into a high-end brand and gradually transform it into a luxury brand. Jeremy Thomson, head of Mazda UK, said: "Mazda's goal is to become a true luxury brand car company, so it is not intended to imitate German high-end brands, but to replace traditional mainstream luxury car brands." The shift to luxury brands is to launch rear-drive RWD models equipped with rotor engines and inline six-cylinder engines and hybrid technology.
