In terms of appearance, the new car basically follows the design style of the old model, with a large forward air grille on the front face, internal chrome-plated decorative strips with Chery LOGO running through them, long and narrow headlamp groups on both sides, and four-point LED daytime traffic lights and fog lights on both sides, while the overall shape is relatively fashionable and young.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4700/1860/1746mm, the wheelbase is 2710mm, and the positioning of medium-sized SUV is consistent with the old model. However, in the new car body color choice, the new car has added deep-sea blue color matching for consumers to choose from.

The interior part is the place where the new car changes most. The new car is equipped with a 24.6-inch full LCD dashboard connected with a central multimedia display screen and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The air conditioning control department is changed to a panel with liquid crystal display and an electronic shift mechanism, which enhances the scientific and technological sense of the interior part. On the seat layout, the new car offers a choice of 5-seat and 7-seat versions.

In terms of power, the new car is still equipped with 1.5T and 1.6T Kunpeng power, of which 1.6T version has a maximum power of 145 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, and the transmission system matches a 7-speed wet double-clutch gearbox; the 1.5T version has a maximum power of 115 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 230 Nm. In addition to the conventional six-speed manual transmission, the transmission system will also be replaced with a six-speed wet double-clutch transmission.

Considering the positioning and price of the new car, it is expected that the new car will compete with similar SUV such as Geely Haoyue and Jetta VS7 as well as hot compact SUV such as Harvard H6 and Changan CS75 PLUS.

According to the attention of the automobile industry, Chery Tiger 8, which was first listed in 2018, is one of the important products of Chery, and it is also a volume model of Chery. According to the data, the cumulative sales of Chery Automobile in 2021 was 656846 (including exports), an increase of 46.3% over the same period last year, of which Ruihu 8 sold 120684 vehicles, accounting for 18% of the total brand sales. According to the plan, Chery will release four new models in the second half of this year, including the above-mentioned Arize 5 GT and the modified and mixed versions of Arize 8 and Ruihu 7 Plus from August. Up to now, Chery automotive products are mainly divided into three categories, including Ruihu series, Ai Ruize series and ou Mengda, among which Ruihu series products include Ruihu 8, Ruihu 7, Ruihu 3X, Ruihu 5X, and Arize series products include Arize GX and Ai Ruize 5 PLUS. Chery's cumulative sales rose 14.9% year-on-year to 301773 vehicles in the first half of this year, with Ruihu 8 being Chery's "handle", with a cumulative sales of 51871 vehicles in the first half of this year, according to the Federation of passengers. As for Omenda, a new model owned by Chery, it went on sale on July 12 as a compact SUV with a price range of 9.29-126900 yuan. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with 1.5TCI and Kunpeng power 1.6TDGI engine, the former maximum power 156hp, matching CVT gearbox, the latter engine maximum power 197hp, peak torque 290Nm, matching 7-speed double-clutch transmission. In addition, as the first model in the evolution of Chery 4.0, Oomengda will also launch four-wheel drive, hybrid and all-electric models in the future, according to officials.

From the current product layout of Chery, Chery already has a relatively perfect SUV product line, from small SUV to medium-sized SUV have corresponding product layout. Chery sold a total of 357429 vehicles in the first half of this year, up 25.9% from the same period last year. For this year's annual sales target, Chery has set 1.5 million to 2 million vehicles. According to the target of 1.5 million, Chery has achieved 23.8% of its target in the first half of this year, meaning that Chery may face greater pressure in the second half of the year.
