AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/06 Report--
Nissan China released the latest data today, showing that in August 2022, Nissan sold 99570 new vehicles in China (passenger vehicles / light commercial vehicles / complete vehicle imports), down 12.0% from the same period last year. Nissan sold 745793 vehicles in China from January to August 2022, down 18.5% from a year earlier. For the reasons for the decline in sales, Nissan China attributed to "COVID-19 epidemic, cross-industry shortage of raw materials and other external factors."
Specifically, the passenger car sector (Dongfeng Nissan / Qichen / Infiniti) sold a total of 88133 new cars, down 8.9% from the same period last year, including 80006 under the Nissan brand, 7637 under the Qichen brand and 490 under the Infiniti brand.
At present, the products Dongfeng Nissan is selling include Xuanyi, Teana, Canda, Bluebird, SUV Qijun, Xiaoke, Jinke and Loulan, but due to the large decline in sales, Dongfeng Nissan announced the sales of only three models, of which the seventh generation Teana sold 14176 new cars in March, new and old Xuanyi sold 43810 new cars, and Xiaoke contributed 15358 to Dongfeng Nissan. In addition to the above models, including Panda, Bluebird, Jinke and other models have not announced the specific sales, especially the upgrading of the new Qijun, since the launch of the sales continue to be a mystery. In July sales, for example, the new Qijun sold only 614 vehicles.
According to the data released by Dongfeng Nissan, at present, only Xuanyi, Teana and Xiaoke are actually supporting enterprise sales, while Qijun, which had previously maintained monthly sales of more than 10,000 vehicles, seems to have doomed Qijun's defeat after it decided to carry the three-cylinder plane in the latest generation of Qijun. Prior to this, four-cylinder Qijun month sales of more than 10,000 is basically the norm, and it was also among the top 10 monthly sales of SUV models in the domestic market, with a cumulative sales volume of 175177 vehicles in 2020. after the replacement, Xinqi Jun sales directly fell to the bottom, from tens of thousands of monthly sales to 4000 vehicles, and the cumulative sales volume from January to July in 2022 was 11826 vehicles, and the future development is very worrying.
As one of the Japanese luxury brands, Infiniti's business situation is very difficult. Dongfeng Infiniti will be brought into the management system of Dongfeng Nissan as an independent business headquarters, and Dongfeng Infiniti will become the third brand of Dongfeng Nissan together with Nissan and Qichen brands. This also means that Dongfeng Infiniti will no longer be the independent division of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., but will become the third brand under Dongfeng Nissan. As a result, Dongfeng Nissan will have three brands: Nissan, Qichen and Infiniti.
It is not difficult to understand that Dongfeng Infiniti has been downgraded. Previously, Dongfeng Infiniti existed as an independent division of Dongfeng Limited, equal to Dongfeng Nissan, similar to Toyota-Lexus, with close relationship but independent operation, but now Infiniti is to Dongfeng Nissan. It is like the crown brand of FAW Toyota, with its own independent logo, but it is no longer an independent division.
On February 28th, 2022, a new generation of QX60 officially went on sale, with a price range of 39.98-619800 yuan. It is understood that QX60 is Dongfeng Infiniti's first medium-and large-scale SUV, and it is also the third domestic model after Q50L and QX50. However, because of the high price, it is not favored by the market when the new car is pre-sold. Data show that retail sales of QX60, Q50L and QX50 were 448, 857 and 2113 respectively in the first half of the year.
However, even so, Infiniti said publicly that it will not withdraw from the Chinese market and will continue to take root in and cultivate China. At the 2022 Chengdu Auto Show, Infiniti's first sedan SUV-- Infiniti QX55 officially appeared on the market, with a guiding price range of 38.98-475300 yuan. It is understood that the new car positioning medium-sized SUV, can be regarded as QX50 sedan models, the future will compete with Audi Q5L Sportback, BMW X4, Mercedes-Benz GLC sedan SUV and other models. On the power side, the new car will be equipped with a VC-TURBO 2.0T engine and variable compression ratio technology, with a maximum power of 200kw and a peak torque of 380N ·m, matched by a CVT continuously variable transmission.
At present, Nissan has encountered a bottleneck in the development of the Chinese market, with only three Xuanyi, Xiaoke and Teana best-selling models, which has a growing gap compared with Toyota and Honda. According to the data, Guangzhou Auto Honda's terminal sales rose 29.43% year-on-year to 68638 vehicles in August 2022, Dongfeng Honda increased 73.00% year-on-year to 67892 vehicles, Guangzhou Auto Toyota grew 97.6% to 84608 vehicles, while Dongfeng Nissan fell 8.9% to 88133 vehicles.
