On Sept. 10, SAIC Audi announced that the new medium and large SUV Audi Q6 was officially pre-sold, launching a total of 6 models with a price range of 45.96-630600 yuan. It is understood that Audi Q6 was born in the same MQB Evo horizontal engine module platform as Volkswagen Tuang, positioning medium and large SUV, is the first fuel SUV under SAIC Audi, and it is also the largest domestic SUV of Audi brand in China.

In terms of appearance, the Audi Q6 front face uses a double appearance design, and the biggest difference is mainly reflected in the internal design of the front grille. Among them, the sports version is decorated with vertical Y-shaped chromium plating strips to achieve the effect of interlaced light and shade, while the administrative version continues to use the honeycomb shape of the Audi RS family and carries out the vertical matrix arrangement design. The headlight group adopts a split design, the upper part is a flow turn signal and LED daytime driving lights, and the lower part is a headlight group with integrated far and near light, and the headlight groups are connected with through-type light belts. This is the first time Audi has used such a design.

On the side of the body, the slightly raised penetrating waistline is full of muscle, and the chrome trim of the blade extends from the A column to the D column, further improving the visual length of the side of the car. In the rear part, the new car is designed with a small roof spoiler, and the taillights are designed with a penetrating design, which not only improves the visual width of the rear, but also further improves the recognition after lighting, and the rear surround shape adopts a double-layer design with a hidden exhaust layout.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of Audi Q6 are 5099/2014/1784mm, wheelbase 2980mm, positioning medium and large SUV. In comparison, compared with the Audi Q7 with vertical platform, Audi Q6 only lags behind in wheelbase, but considering the horizontal platform, Audi Q6 is not inferior to Audi Q7 in space performance. In addition, as the largest domestic SUV model made by Audi, compared with BMW X5Li with extended wheelbase 130mm, Audi Q6 only lags behind 126mm in wheelbase.

As a model specially built for the Chinese market, the new car interior adopts a new design style, and the 12.8-inch LCD meter + 10.1-inch suspension center control screen + 8.6-inch bottom center control screen is still the iconic layout of the Audi series. and physical buttons are further reduced. In terms of layout, Audi Q6 will provide 6-seat and 7-seat options, of which the two separate seats in the second row of the 6-seat version will also provide comfortable configurations such as ventilation, heating and massage.

In terms of power, Audi Q6 provides 2.0T and 2.5T engines, all with standard quatro four-wheel drive system. Among them, 2.0T is the fourth generation EA888 engine, and the maximum power is 170kw (231hp) and 195kw (265hp), while the 2.5T V6 engine codenamed EA390 is 220kw (290hp). In terms of transmission system, both engines are equipped with 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox.

Compared with the previously announced pre-booking price of 50-650000 yuan, the official pre-sale guidance price range is 45.96-630600 yuan, and the entry price is 40400 yuan lower than the previous booking price, further lowering the threshold for car purchase. It should be noted that the Audi Q6 has not yet been pre-sold and is not officially on the market, and perhaps the price of the new car may be further reduced when it comes to market.

As the second joint venture brand in China, SAIC Audi is doing poorly in the domestic market. At present, SAIC Audi has mass produced and listed models including Audi A7L, Audi Q5 e-tron and Audi Q6, but at present, these three models are not very popular in the domestic market.

As the first mass-produced model under SAIC Audi, Audi A7L has attracted numerous eyes and high expectations from the outside world from the moment of exposure, but Audi A7L's performance in the market is very ordinary. In terms of appearance, it cancels the imported A7 slip-back body design, and lengthens the body according to the needs of the domestic market, which tends to the traditional hatchback shape. Data show that from January to July 2022, Audi A7L accumulated retail sales of 2207 vehicles, while imported Audi A7 was 2063.

Not long ago, SAIC Audi offered a price reduction promotion for Audi A7L 45TFSI models. The original guidance price range was 45.98-519900 yuan, while the new guidance price range was 41.87-489900 yuan, with a minimum reduction of 20000 yuan and a maximum reduction of 41000 yuan. It is understood that the price of Audi A7L is even cheaper than that of Audi A6L after adjustment. Audi A7L is even cheaper than Audi A6L! For comparison, the 2023 Audi A6L 45TFSI ranges from 45.49 yuan to 498800 yuan, and the starting price of the Audi A7L is 36200 yuan cheaper than that of the Audi A6L.

In addition to the Audi A7L, the Audi Q5 e-tron, SAIC Audi's second production car, is also selling poorly. It is understood that Audi Q5 e-tron officially launched on May 17, the new car is based on the MEB platform, the price range is 37.65-479500 yuan. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4786/1860/1675mm, the wheelbase is 2965mm, and the positioning is medium and large pure electric SUV. In terms of power, the new car provides 40 e-tron and 50 e-tron quattro power, the former comprehensive maximum power 204Ps, peak torque 310 N ·m, CLTC mileage of 560 km, the latter comprehensive maximum power 306Ps, peak torque 460 N ·m, CLTC mileage is 520km. The data show that 497 vehicles were sold in March, of which 266 were sold in July.

It is understood that SAIC Audi's annual sales target of 40,000 vehicles is likely to fail, and it is even difficult to sell more than 10,000 vehicles. Jia MingDi, general manager of SAIC Audi, once said, "it is a good seedling, but it is very small and it takes a little time for it to look long."

Although they are both Audi, there is a big gap between FAW Audi and SAIC Audi. For the young SAIC Audi, the market will give a certain amount of time, and it will have more room for development, but the indifference of the Audi A7L is really worth SAIC Audi's warning to think seriously about what users need. It is understood that FAW Audi's current domestic models include A6L, A4L A3, Q5L, Q3, Q2L and other models. Data show that FAW Audi sold more than 10,000 models in August, including 13883 A4L, 12794 Q5L and 11212 A6L.
