According to the settlement agreement, Toyota extended the fuel pump warranty to 15 years or 150000 miles (241000 km), whichever comes first. However, according to the published agreement, the agreement is only for the US market.

It is understood that the models affected by fuel pump defects include dozens of Toyota and Lexus models with Denso low-pressure fuel pumps produced from 2013 to 2020, involving a wide range of models, including best-selling cars such as Lexus LS 460and Toyota RAV4. According to statistics, between 2020 and 2021, more than 5.8 million vehicles worldwide were recalled because of the defect, of which 3.36 million were in the United States.

In addition, it was reported that Denso International, a subsidiary of Toyota, was also one of the defendants affected by fuel pump defects, which agreed to settle but did not admit wrongdoing.
