For vehicles that cannot be recalled through remote vehicle upgrade (OTA) technology, customers will be contacted to the store through a Lexus dealer to upgrade the vehicle lane maintenance assist system (LTA) control program free of charge to eliminate safety concerns.

Starting from September 28th, 2022, a total of 6491 imported Lexus NX 260s were recalled during the period from April 19, 2021 to July 15, 2022.

The reason for the recall is that due to improper programming for abnormal detection of the electric parking brake system (EPB) control computer power circuit in the brake actuator control unit (ECU), the short response delay in the circuit is mistaken for abnormal, which may cause the warning light to light up. At this time, if you have parked, you can not release the parking state, if you do not park, you can not use EPB for parking, there are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the internal procedures of the brake actuator control unit (ECU) for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

The problem involving the vehicle model is that due to the improper setting of the welding equipment program, there may be missing welding in the front fender assembly which is used to fix the left / right front shock absorber on the car body, and when the vehicle is used continuously in this state, cracks may occur around the solder joint, which in extreme cases will affect the driving stability of the vehicle, and there are hidden dangers in safety. In view of this defect, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the left / right front fender fender assembly for free to see if there is leakage welding or steel plate cracks in the recalled vehicles, and repair welding if there is leakage welding; if there are cracks, replace the front fender fender assembly to eliminate safety risks.

In terms of specific models, the cumulative sales of Lexus NX in China from January to August were 12317, down 60.29% from the same period last year, including 2304 in August.
