As Buick's new SUV model, the new car is based on Buick's new generation of compact SUV platform, and it is also the first Buick SUV model to hang the brand new "tricolor shield" Logo. Buick's new Logo logo was announced on June 1 this year. Compared with the old Logo, the biggest change of the new Logo is that it adopts the very popular flattening design style, and cancels the design style of the circular ring wrapping the shield and the staggered arrangement of the three internal shields, instead adopting the more simple style that the three shields are independent of each other and neatly arranged together. The new car design concept is based on Buick Electra-X pure electric concept SUV, using the latest PURE Design family design language, the front face design style is quite fashionable, and provides ordinary version and GS version of two appearance models, the difference between the two models is mainly reflected in the front face detail modeling. The ordinary version of the front face uses a chrome-plated front grille, the GS version uses a smoked diamond grid front grille, and the upper center is Buick's latest "tricolor shield" brand Logo, with winged daytime driving lights and rectangular LED lights on both sides, with high overall recognition.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts the popular sedan SUV design, the overall line is smooth, the integrated waistline runs through the whole body, and the wing plate appears to be very broad visually. In addition, there are slight differences between the ordinary version and the GS version. The ordinary version is equipped with chrome-plated door edge strips, body color door handles and multi-spoke sports rims. The GS version blackens the door trim, exterior rearview mirror housing and sports rims, and is equipped with 18-inch smoked rims and red brake calipers, making it more athletic. In the rear part, the overall design style of the new car is simple, and the rear of the two models are slip-back design, with long and narrow LED light groups on both sides, echoing with the headlight group.

In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4638/1816/1565mm and a wheelbase of 2700mm, which is located between the Ankora GX and the Unkoway S. For comparison, the current Ankowei S has a length, width and height of 4662/1883/1631mm with a wheelbase of 2779mm and an GX of 4463/1813/1642mm with a wheelbase of 2640mm. Under this, the overall size of the new car is slightly smaller than that of the current Onkway S.

In the interior part, the center console of the new car adopts a suspended double 10.25inch large screen composed of liquid crystal dashboard and multimedia display, and the central control screen has built-in Buick eConnect Smart + connected Technology. On the power side, the new car carries a 1.5T four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 135kW and a peak torque of 250Nm, which is matched by a CVT gearbox. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time of the new car is 7.9s.

In terms of market competition, considering the current positioning and price of the new car, the price of the new car is not much different from the Buick cash compact SUV Ankora GX. The current price range of the Ankora GX is 155900-185900 yuan, and the new car will form a competitor with the Ankora GX in the same market segment. Integrating the sales volume of the Ankora GX, the new car may have the opportunity to replace the Ankora GX in the future.

From the perspective of domestic joint venture compact SUV models, the new car will also compete with Honda ZR-V (15.99-195900 yuan), Toyota RAV4 Rongfang (17.58-260800 yuan) and Volkswagen Tuyue (15.86-216600 yuan). Among them, the Honda ZR-V is the latest compact SUV model launched by Guangzhou Auto Honda. The car was officially launched on August 30. Its design style is obviously different from that of the Guangzhou Automobile Honda model currently on sale. It is located between colorful Intelligence and Haoying, and the price range is 15.99-195900 yuan. For reference, from January to August this year, the cumulative retail sales of the Ankora GX were 2014; the Onkway was 24388; the Toyota RAV4 was 99435; and the Volkswagen Tuyue was 70733.

According to the concern of the automobile industry, Buick currently has a number of models on sale. Including Buick Kaiyue, Buick Yinglang, Buick Veyron, Buick Palang, Buick Regal, Buick Regal, Buick LaCrosse, Buick Ankora, Buick Ankora GX, Buick Onkway S, Buick Ankor Plus, Buick Anko Flag, Buick GL6, Buick GL8 onshore business class, GL8 ES Land Zun, GL8 Century CENTURY, Micro Blue 6, Micro Blue 7 and high-end brand Avenirvia.

According to public data, SAIC GM Buick sold a total of 304478 vehicles in the first half of this year, of which the top three models were Anke, New Yinglong and Weilang, with wholesale sales of 69288, 61385 and 52181 respectively. As for how much of a driving effect the new Buick can bring to Buick sales after its launch, the market needs to give an answer.
