The new car is based on the MQB platform and locates a medium-and large-sized five-seater SUV, which is between exploring the mountain and exploring the land. On August 29th, FAW-Volkswagen released a new model, TAVENDOR, and officially named it "Tour" in Chinese.

In terms of appearance, the new car uses the latest family design elements, the front face is a penetrating intake grille and integrates with the light groups on both sides to form an integration, the middle is the brand logo that Volkswagen can light, and the light groups on both sides use a black background design to highlight the movement of the vehicle. The new car is available in both the regular version and the R-Line version, with the main difference being the front enclosure. The ordinary version is surrounded by three-stage layout, and the left and right sides are equipped with circular light belts; the R-Line version is surrounded by a penetrating design, the interior is filled with black honeycomb structure, and the light-emitting units on the left and right sides are arranged in line.

On the side of the car body, the new car is connected by the straight belt of the front LED headlight group and the straight waistline to the rear light group, and the overall line is simple. The windows of the new car are smoked and blackened, the upper side is equipped with chrome trim, and the rim is a double five-spoke large-size rim. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4936x2015x1756 (1767) mm, and the wheelbase is 2980mm, which is located between mountain exploration and range. For comparison, the length, width and height of Lanyue are 4589/1860/1660mm, the wheelbase is 2731mm, the length, width and height of the range are 5152/2002/1795mm, and the wheelbase is 2980mm.

In the rear part, the shape of the rear part of the new car is also simple, and the taillight group is a popular penetrating design technique nowadays, and the brand logo is highly recognizable after lighting. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0T low-power / high-power turbocharged engine, of which the low-power version (330TSI) has a maximum power 137kw with a peak torque of 320N ·m; the high-power version (380TSI) has a maximum power of 162kw with a peak torque of 350N ·m. In terms of transmission system, the whole series of models match 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox.

The new car as a new SUV model, FAW-Volkswagen set its positioning between the exploration of the mountain and the range, which means that the new car will directly fill the market gap between the exploration of the mountain and the range. Tanyue is the second domestic SUV of FAW-Volkswagen, which went on sale in October 2018, with a price range of 18.88-319800 yuan; in April 2020, the GTE officially went on sale with a price range of 24.98-259800 yuan, and the new car was equipped with a 1.4T engine and motor plug-in system; in July 2020, the new car was officially launched, and the new car was based on Danyue, with a price range of 23.58-295800 yuan. The current mid-term revamping of the new Tanyue has been officially released on August 3, compared with the previous generation of models, the change of the new car is that the appearance and interior shape is younger and fashionable.

Lingjing is the first medium-and large-sized SUV of FAW-Volkswagen, which went on sale on June 24, 2021, with a price range of 29.99-399900 yuan. Lingjing and SAIC-Volkswagen Tuan are sister models to each other, but the body size is larger than that of Tuan.

As a reference, according to new car traffic insurance data, from January to August this year, Qianyue sold 56085 vehicles; range Land was 16485; and Tuan was 31176.

Considering the positioning and pre-price of the new car, the main competitors after the launch of the new car are the five-seater models in the large SUV camp of the joint venture brand, including the Chevrolet Trailblazer 5-seater, Tuan and other models.
