AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/16 Report--
Recently, Porsche released the latest global sales figures. According to released data, Porsche delivered a total of 221512 vehicles worldwide from January to September this year, an increase of 2 per cent year-on-year.
Detlev von Platen, head of sales and marketing, a member of Porsche's global executive board, said, "despite multiple challenges, we have successfully increased new car deliveries in the first nine months of this year. Porsche is popular with consumers as a modern luxury brand in all markets around the world, as well as our products. At the same time, we are still concerned about the restrictions on the supply of spare parts, which will affect the time customers wait for the delivery of new cars. We are fully committed to the sprint in the fourth quarter and are constantly alert to external factors and uncertainties. Welcome the next three months with firm determination and energy. "
From the market point of view: China is Porsche's largest market, delivering 68766 new cars, down 1% from the same period last year; sales in Europe increased significantly, with 42204 new cars delivered, up 11% from the same period last year; the German market delivered 20850 new cars, up 9% from the same period last year; and delivery volume in North America was 56357, down 4% from the same period last year. Officials say the decline in North American deliveries is mainly due to logistics challenges.
In terms of model delivery, the SUV Cayenne is Porsche's most popular model, with delivery of 66800 vehicles. The second-ranked model was the Macan, with 59600 deliveries. 911 deliveries were 30600, up 9 per cent year-on-year. Panamera deliveries were 25500; pure electric vehicle Taycan deliveries were 25100, down 12 per cent from a year earlier. In addition, deliveries of 718Boxster and 718Cayman were 14000 vehicles. In response to the decline in Taycan delivery, Porsche said: "these two factors have a particular impact on electric sports cars due to supply chain-related bottlenecks and reduced availability of parts. Taycan deliveries are down, but orders are still large. "
At present, Porsche's core sports car products include six major model series, including 718,911, Taycan, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne, among which Cayenne and Macan are Porsche models with high demand. According to relevant data, Porsche sold 145900 vehicles worldwide in the first half of 2022, including 38000 Macan, 41900 Cayenne, 18900 Taycan, 21600 911 and 15600 Panamera. In addition, the global sales of Porsche from 2019 to 2021 were 280800, 272200 and 301900, respectively.
From the data released by Porsche, it is not difficult to see that China and the United States are the two major sales pillars of Porsche, of which Porsche sells the most in China. According to relevant data, the global delivery volume of Porsche in 2021 is 301915, of which the Chinese market is 95671, an increase of 8% over the same period last year. In the first half of 2022, Porsche's sales from the Chinese market were 5.64 billion euros, accounting for 31.47% of the total sales. China is Porsche's most important market, accounting for 1/3 of its sales. Porsche has sold 316971 vehicles in China in the past three and a half years, accounting for 32.09 per cent of the total global sales of 987734, according to relevant data.
As the largest new energy vehicle market in the world, the Chinese market is the top priority of the global automobile brand layout. Porsche has said it aims to deliver more than 50 per cent of new cars by 2025 and pure electric vehicles by 2030. According to Porsche's strategic plan, Porsche plans to invest about 10 billion euros in hybrid, electrification and digitization by 2024. Of these, 60% will be used for the research and development of hybrid and electric vehicles; 30% will be used for investment in tangible assets related to electrification; and 10% will be used for the digitization of cars. However, from a product point of view, Porsche is still relatively slow in the development of electric transformation. Take the Porsche pure electric sports car Taycan, which was launched in 2019 as an example, the Taycan sold about 7000 vehicles in China in 2021, accounting for only about 8 per cent of Porsche's sales in China. It may be difficult to deliver more than 50% of electric cars by 2025.
