In fact, there is an early clue about Zhongtai T300 resumption of production. On July 16, Zotye T300 appeared in the 359th batch of new car declaration catalogue issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. According to the declaration information, the new car is basically consistent with the Zotye T300 produced before in terms of power and configuration, and the details are added with anti-collision bumper at the front surrounding position of the front of the car. The power is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with maximum power of 82kW and maximum torque of 143Nm, meeting the national VI emission standard and matching manual gearbox. On July 18, Zhongtai Automobile said through the interactive platform that Zotye T300 model is one of the models planned to resume production by the company, but the actual situation needs to be comprehensively considered from various aspects such as procurement and production. After resumption of production, the company will launch a variety of models for six consecutive years. This also means that Zotye Auto will start again and enter the domestic passenger car market.

It is understood that the model T300 resumed production was launched as early as August 2017, with a guidance price of 459 - 93,800 yuan, and was discontinued in April 2020, during which the cumulative sales volume was about 120,000 vehicles. For information on Zotye's predecessor, Zotye Holding Group was established in 2003. In December 2021, Zhongtai said: the reorganization plan of the Company has been implemented, the core problems affecting the continuous operation of the Company have been basically solved, the Company focuses on the core business, actively promotes the resumption of production, and the follow-up Company will aim at the new development trend of the automobile industry and carry out layout in the core fields such as new energy vehicles, intelligent network-connected vehicles and automatic driving.

Recently, after completing the reorganization, Zhongtai is also actively doing a series of operations to promote the resumption of production. In June this year, Zhongtai Automobile issued an announcement saying that the proposed increase in capital should not exceed 6 billion yuan, of which 4.732 billion yuan will be used for new energy intelligent network automobile development and R & D capacity improvement projects, accounting for 78.87% of the total raised capital. Four new energy and intelligent networked passenger vehicles will be developed based on three platforms, including three pure electric large and medium-sized SUV models and one pure electric sedan model.

In August, ST Zhongtai issued an announcement announcing the signing of a cooperation agreement with the government of Bishan District of Chongqing City, renting the production line of the former Chongqing Zhongtai Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. and carrying out technical transformation on it to build a production base with an annual output of 100,000 new energy vehicles. The government of Bishan District (Bishan District) fully cooperates with the company to resume production and introduce new models, and provides corresponding support according to law within the scope of rights and responsibilities, including certain subsidies according to the sales volume of the produced models and newly introduced models. ST Zhongtai said that this move is to implement the company's resumption plan, which will help the company's R & D and technology accumulation in intelligent network new energy vehicles.

In addition, Zotye also disclosed its production and sales plan for resumption of production. It indicates that according to the market demand of each model, the models T300, T500, T600, etc. with market demand and production and operation conditions have been determined. In the first stage, the core new model of Zhongtai TS5 will be produced and sold. ST Zotye said the TS5 would be its core model for resumption. Several mature compact models, including Zotye T600 export models, T700 medium and large SUV models, Zotye E200 pure electric models, Zotye T300 and other mature compact models, were included in the second phase of the resumption of production sales plan. In the third stage, ST Zotye plans to launch TS7 core new model, and at the same time launch A00 core pure electric vehicle E200 new model, focusing on urban and rural family transportation market, and at the same time, each production model will increase output and expand market.

The resumption of production of T300 also represents ST Zhongtai's step-by-step implementation of its resumption sales plan. From the point of view of product strength, Zotye T300 does not have great advantages. However, from another point of view, T300 is Zotye's original model, and the launch of the car at this time may mean that Zotye will change its previous road.
