In terms of appearance, the overall shape of the new Peugeot 5008 is not much different from the cash model. It is optimized and upgraded according to the details on the basis of the cash model, and the scattered lattice grille is used to continue, but it is replaced by the latest black shield lion logo. This is also the second domestic model to be replaced with a new lion after Peugeot's new 408. In addition, the headlight group is integrated with the front grille, and the internal structure is the same as that of the current model. It is expected that the high-end model will be equipped with LED light source, and the downward extension of the LED light band creates a visual effect of "fangs".

On the side of the car body, the decorative line extending from the end of the new headlamp group connects with the A-pillar, the door panel and the upper edge of the window are also decorated with silver decorative strips, and the wheel rim style and tire configuration remain unchanged, but some models can also be equipped with black exterior rearview mirror shell and provide newly designed rims. In the joint venture medium-sized SUV market, Peugeot 5008, in addition to facing popular models, potential competitors include Chevrolet explorer (16.99-239900 yuan), Skoda Kodiak (18.69-243900 yuan) and Hyundai Shengda (20.28-272800 yuan).

According to official data released by DPCA, as of October 16, the total annual sales of DPCA was 100600, surpassing the annual sales in 2021, achieving 23 consecutive months of positive year-on-year growth, of which 14037 new cars were sold in September, a monthly high in 2022 and an increase of 73% over the same period last year.

Although Dongfeng Peugeot sales performance continues to improve obviously, the launch of the new 408 is expected to drive Dongfeng Peugeot's overall sales growth, but looking at the Peugeot 5008 model alone, a small change is not expected to change its awkward market situation. According to the data, Dongfeng Peugeot's highest sales volume in September 2022 was Peugeot 408, with 2140 vehicles, followed by Peugeot 4008 with 1008 vehicles, and other models with less than 1,000 vehicles. Of this total, Peugeot 5008 sold only 206vehicles, with a cumulative sales of 4447 in the first three quarters. Judging from the current news, the new Peugeot 5008 has changed very little, and the optimization and upgrade of the details may not improve the competitiveness of the car, and sales are not expected to improve much.
