At this stage, ideal cars, like other new forces, are inseparable from the topic of loss. According to the semiannual results of 2022 released earlier by ideal Automobile, the total income in the first half of 2022 was 18.29 billion yuan, an increase of 112.4% over the same period last year, while the net loss was 652 million yuan, an increase of 9.5% over the same period last year.

Of this total, the total revenue in the second quarter of 2022 was 8.73 billion yuan, an increase of 73.3 percent over the same period last year and a decrease of 8.7 percent from the previous month. The net loss was 641 million yuan, an increase of 172.2% over the same period last year. The net loss in the first quarter of 2022 was 10.9 million yuan. It is understood that in the second quarter of 2022, the R & D cost of ideal car was 1.53 billion yuan, an increase of 134.4% over the same period last year and 11.5% month-on-month. The increase in R & D expenses has increased the loss of ideal cars to a certain extent.

At present, ideal car has three models: ideal L9, ideal L8 and ideal L7. Ideal L9 went on sale on June 21 this year and was called "the best household SUV within 5 million" by Li Xiang. The price of positioning large SUV is 459800 yuan. National delivery begins on August 18th. On September 30th, ideal car launched both ideal L8 and ideal L7 models, ideal L8 positioning medium and large SUV, a total of two models L8 Pro and L8 Max, priced at 359800 yuan and 399800 yuan respectively, and delivery began in early November. The ideal L7 has launched two models with a price range of 33.98 yuan to 379800 yuan, and the new car will be delivered by the end of February 2023. At the launch conference of the new car, ideal car CEO Li Xiang said: the ideal L8 redefines the six-seat deluxe medium and large SUV, which is the first choice for the six-seat luxury medium and large SUV within 400000. The Pro model is the top match, and the Max model is in Yunxiao. There is no such car in the world before.

With the delivery of the ideal L9, sales of the ideal car rebounded in September. Previously, ideal car delivery was 4571 in August, a year-on-year drop of 51.5 per cent. The delivery volume of ideal cars decreased significantly in August or related to the launch of ideal L8 and L9 new cars. Earlier, the ideal side also said in the second quarter earnings call that due to the launch of the L9 model, the order growth of the ideal ONE is relatively slow. Some industry insiders pointed out that the ideal ONE has entered the end of the product life cycle, some consumers have turned to the ideal L9, and orders for new models have swallowed up delivery. 11531 new cars were delivered in September, of which 10123 were delivered for the ideal L9 and 1408 for the ideal ONE. Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of ideal Automobile, said, "thanks to the strength and layout of the ideal car in independent research and development, supply chain and intelligent manufacturing capabilities, the ideal L9 delivers more than 10, 000 vehicles a month. This is also the first time that a Chinese brand model with a starting price of more than 400000 has been delivered in a single month."

It is worth noting that, in addition to ideal L9, ideal L8, and ideal L7, according to earlier media reports, ideal will launch medium-sized SUV ideal L6, ideal L6 will be located in luxury 5-seat SUV, the size of medium-sized SUV, smaller than the positioning of large and medium-sized L7, the price may be less than 300000, enter the more than 200,000 SUV market. From the current product positioning layout of ideal car, with the delivery of ideal L8 and L7 models and the launch of new models, its sales are expected to increase significantly.
