Festa N Line

Festa is a compact car owned by Beijing Hyundai. The appearance of the newly launched Festa N Line is based on the Festa ordinary version, but the new car adds N Line exclusive sports kit, which is more athletic. At the same time, the Festa N-Line model is also the first N Line series sedan product of Beijing Hyundai.

In terms of appearance, Festa N-Line model integrates Hyundai Sensuous Sportiness (perceptual sports) design concept, the overall design style is more dynamic and sports, the new car uses a new shape under the front bumper, side skirt and bilateral exhaust system and so on. Specifically, the front face uses a frameless intake grille, the headlights on both sides are integrated with the forward air grille, the interior of the grille adopts a new shape with raised texture grid, and the bottom of the front bumper also adopts a more sporty design style.

On the side of the body, the new car continues the slippery-back style of the current model, with a slightly raised waistline design at the rear fender, petal-shaped wheels and updated red brake calipers underneath. In addition, the new car can also be upgraded with black rearview mirror shell, red brake calipers, and N-Line logo for front grille and front wing area. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4690/1790/1425mm and the wheelbase is 2700mm, which is consistent with the current model. In the rear part, the new car is designed with blackened through taillights, surrounded by the updated bottom, and equipped with two-sided rectangular exhaust layout, which makes the visual effect of the whole car more moving.

In the interior part, the new car is equipped with a 10.25inch double screen, a built-in intelligent network system in the central control screen, a Hyundai SmartSense intelligent all-in-one security system, a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel and a leather-covered exclusive electronic handle for overall relative movement.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 147kw and a peak torque of 253N ·m, which is still matched by a seven-speed double-clutch transmission. For reference, the current Festa carries a 1.5T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 140/150kw and a peak torque of 265N ·m.

Beijing Hyundai's new Tusheng L

As the compact SUV of Beijing Hyundai, the new Tusheng L basically maintains the design style of the old model, and the biggest change is the replacement of an eight-speed hand-integrated gearbox.

In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car adopts a new family air intake grille design, the interior of the grille is fumigated, both sides are equipped with headlamp groups composed of LED light sources, and the air intake is also blackened, highlighting the sense of movement of the new car. On the side of the body, the new car has smooth lines and is consistent with the old model as a whole, but the details have changed, such as the new style aluminum alloy rims on both sides of the body and the fumigation treatment, and the wheels use five-spoke sports wheels to make the whole more athletic. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4670/1865/1690mm and the wheelbase is 2755mm. In the rear part, the new car taillight adopts the popular through-type taillight design, the interior is integrated with LED light source design, the black sports rear surround and silver decorative strip design improve the recognition of the new car, and the exhaust hole adopts two-out layout.

In the interior part, the new car adopts embracing cockpit design, and the center console is composed of full liquid crystal instrument and suspended central control screen, equipped with four-spoke multi-function steering wheel and button shift.

In terms of power, the new car continues to be consistent with the models currently on sale, with a 1.5T high-power turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 200 horsepower and a peak torque of 253 Nm. In the transmission system, the new car is upgraded from a 7-speed dry double-clutch gearbox to an 8-speed manual self-integrated gearbox, with a maximum speed of 205km/h, a front drive and a front McPherson independent suspension + rear multi-link independent suspension.

On October 18, 2002, Beijing Hyundai was officially established under the joint investment of Beijing Automobile Investment Co., Ltd. and Korea Hyundai Automotive Co., Ltd., but as a 20-year joint venture car company, Beijing Hyundai's development in China is not smooth. According to the data, from 2013 to 2016, Beijing Hyundai sold 1.03 million vehicles, 1.16 million vehicles, 1.06 million vehicles and 1.14 million vehicles respectively, of which 2016 was the historical peak of Beijing Hyundai's development. since then, sales have been depressed, with sales of 755659, 782163, 685126, 384782 and 359851 respectively from 2017 to 2021.

At the 2018 Shanghai Pudong Auto Show, Beijing Hyundai officially unveiled its new coupe LAFESTA and identified it as "Festa" in Chinese. On October 18, 2018, Beijing Hyundai Festa officially launched a total of five models with 1.4T and 1.6T (low / high power) engines, with a price range of 11.98-154800 yuan. Competitors target Honda Civic, Mazda Oncella, Volkswagen Lingdu and other joint venture compact cars. On December 22, 2020, Festa ushered in a medium-term revamp, with a total of four models, with a more sporty appearance and interior design, while abolishing the 1.4T engine, all equipped with 1.6T engine, with a price range of 13.38-154800 yuan.

Hyundai Tusheng was first made in 2005, but after a few years of sale, the replacement model is not named Tusheng, but replaced by Hyundai ix35. In April 2010, Beijing Hyundai introduced the second-generation Tusheng into domestic production and renamed it ix35, but the domestic old Tusheng did not stop production, and the car was sold in the same room with Hyundai ix35, and there was a misplaced competition between the two. In November 2017, the second generation of Beijing Hyundai ix35 went on sale with a price range of 11.99-161900 yuan. The ix35 currently on sale is the second-generation mid-term modified model, which went on sale in November 2020 with a price range of 12.98-155800 yuan, equipped with 1.4T turbocharged and 2.0L naturally aspirated engines.

Although Beijing Hyundai has many models, there are only Elantra, Tusheng L and ix35 models. From January to September in 2022, Elantra sold 70232 vehicles, making it the highest selling model of Hyundai in Beijing, followed by Hyundai ix35 (43801), Beijing Tusheng L (25755) and Festa (376), according to data from New car Traffic Insurance. As for whether Festa N Line and the new Tusheng L can improve their depressed sales situation after listing, it remains to be verified by the market.
