On the evening of November 7, Chery's new generation of Ruihu 7 PLUS was officially launched, with a total of four models with a price range of 99900-121900 yuan. After the launch of the new car, it will compete with Changan CS55 PLUS and Harvard H6. As a comparison, Changan CS55 PLUS costs 9.29-125900 yuan and Harvard H6 costs 9.89-157000 yuan.

The new car is based on the design concept of ART IN MOTION and is operated by the same designer of Mercedes-Benz AMG. As a modified model, the biggest change in appearance is the use of a new design language, the front face design is more exquisite, the use of a new straight waterfall grille to replace the old model honeycomb design, large-size grille on both sides with "double hook" headlights and vertical bar day lights, at the same time, there is also a red decorative line under the grille to enhance the visual impact of the front face.

The new car has smooth lines on the side of the body, using double waistline and suspended roof design, with 19-inch oversized aluminum alloy wheels to enhance the movement flavor of the whole car. In the rear part, the new car adopts the popular through-type taillight group shape, which has a high degree of recognition after lighting, while the lower exhaust part is a bilateral four-out layout. In terms of body size, the new car is 4500/1862/1695mm in length, width and height, 2670mm in wheelbase, compact SUV in positioning, and 5-seat layout in seating.

In the interior part, the new car owner plays a minimalist design style, mainly in black and magnolia red colors, and the central control part is equipped with a large LCD dashboard and central control screen to form a 24.6in duplex screen, with the latest LION5.0 system built in. In addition, the new car also uses a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a crystal electronic lever, and the center console and door trim panels are added with chrome trim to create a sense of science and technology. In terms of power, the new Ruihu 7 PLUS is equipped with 1.6TGDI Kunpeng Power, maximum power 145kW, peak torque 290N ·m, and the transmission part matches the 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox.

Ruihu 7 is a new flagship SUV of Chery and the first SUV of the second-generation product line after Chery's strategic transformation, which was first unveiled in September 2016. As a new flagship model, Ruihu 8 has been an important volume model of Chery before the launch of Ruihu 8. Ruihu 7PLUS is a new model launched in September 2021, which is positioned higher than Ruihu 7 and is also the main sales force in Chery's SUV product line.

At the beginning of 2022, Chery Holdings Group set the annual sales in 2022 as "ensuring annual sales of 1.5 million vehicles and striving for 2 million vehicles". By the end of September, Chery Group's cumulative sales increased by 37.3% to 893930 vehicles compared with the same period last year, achieving the annual sales target of 59.59%. In terms of brand segmentation, the Chery automobile brand is the main source of sales of the Chery Automobile Group, with an increase of 55% to 679863 vehicles in the first three quarters of 2022 compared with the same period last year. Ruihu 8 and Ruihu 7 series are the main models of Chery's sales growth, with sales of 141400 and 119700 respectively in the first three quarters. In terms of specific models, according to the data of new car traffic insurance, from January to September 2022, the cumulative sales of Ruihu 8, Ruihu 7 and Ruihu 5x were 74894, 37589 and 23689 respectively. The number of Ruihu 3X is 11237, which means that Chery needs to rely on Ruihu 8 and Ruihu 7 series models to achieve growth, and the new Ruihu 7 PLUS is a modified model. Compared with the old models, the overall design of the new car is younger and more exquisite, and the new car will continue to share part of Chery's sales after its launch.
