FAW Toyota "Grevia" is the sister model of GAC Toyota "Sana". As a comparison, the price range of GAC Toyota Sana is 3098 - 405,800 yuan. According to the plan, the new car will be officially launched on December 16, after which it will compete with Buick GL8 and sister model GAC Toyota Sana.

FAW Toyota "Granvia" officially launched on May 25 and confirmed its Chinese name as "Gravia". As a sister model of Sana, in terms of appearance, the overall design style of the new car is very similar to that of Sana, but optimized in details. The front face part is different from the chrome-plated horizontal banner mesh structure design surrounded by the front of the race. The new car adopts a large-area honeycomb mesh air intake grille with vents on both sides of the bumper, which makes it more sharp and sporty. On the side of the body, the new car has smooth lines and adopts multi-line layout, creating a good sense of power. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5175/1995/1765 mm respectively (1785 without roof rack), and the wheelbase is 3060 mm. The positioning of medium and large MPV is consistent with that of Sena. The rear part adopts the blackened tail lamp group with special design like Sena, the rear surround adopts double-layer design, equipped with grid-shaped decorative panel and chrome trim strip, and the exhaust adopts hidden layout.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car adopts sedan design layout, suspended design of central control multimedia touch screen and 7-inch full LCD instrument panel, and equipped with three-frame multi-function steering wheel, a large number of physical function buttons are retained in the car. The seats adopt a 7-seat layout of 2+2+3. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with the same hybrid powertrain as the brand-new Crown-Liufang. It is equipped with a hybrid system of 2.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine + electric motor, among which the maximum power of 2.5L naturally aspirated engine is 141kW, the maximum power of motor is 134kW, and the comprehensive power of the system is estimated to be 183kW, matching E-CVT gearbox.

According to the data of the Association, the overall sales volume of MPV market in China decreased by 1.0% year-on-year to 1.079 million vehicles in 2021, among which Buick GL8 accumulated sales volume of 161,300 vehicles, ranking first in MPV sales volume, and Chuanqi M8 and Wuling Kaijie ranked second and third, with sales volume of 66,000 and 63,000 respectively. After entering 2022, the domestic MPV market began to reshuffle.

Data show that in October 2022, domestic MPV market sales fell 6.4% year-on-year to 82,000 vehicles; In terms of specific models, the list shows that only Buick GL8 and Wuling Hongguang sold more than 10,000 vehicles in October, among which Buick GL8 sales increased by 1.1% year-on-year to 13113 vehicles; Sales of Wuling Hongguang plummeted 34.8% to 11615 vehicles. In addition, Chuanqi M8 was the model with the highest decline in the list, down 42.8% year-on-year to 4338 vehicles.

Enlarged to the first ten months, the domestic MPV market sales volume from January to October 2022 fell by 14.3% year-on-year to 770,000 vehicles. Throughout the MPV market, in the first 10 months, except for Maple Leaf 80V, which grew by 192.8% year-on-year, all other models showed a year-on-year decline trend. According to the list, Wuling Hongguang topped the list from January to October with a cumulative sales volume of 137924 vehicles, followed by Buick GL8 with 110512 vehicles, and the brand-new model Sana ranked third with sales volume of 61116 vehicles. Ranked fourth and fifth are Chuanqi M8 and Fengxing Lingzhi, with sales volume of 49733 and 42863 respectively. According to statistics, among the top five models, except Sana, the other four models all declined year-on-year, among which Wuling Hongguang fell 34.3% year-on-year; Buick GL8 followed, with a year-on-year decline of 18.8%.

According to the list, as a new model, the sales performance in the first 10 months is relatively excellent, and it has surpassed Odyssey, Alishen, Chuanqi M8 and other medium-and large-sized MPVs for six times before, which is also the recognition result of consumers for products and prices in a sense. In terms of new car layout in the market, Buick flagship MPV Century has been officially launched and will be delivered in mid-December. Two models of the car have been launched, with a price range of 529,900 - 689,900 yuan; Tengshi brand's first MPV model "Tengshi D9" has also been launched on August 23, the car positioning medium-sized MPV, a total of DM-i super hybrid version and pure electric two power options, the price range of 32.98-66.00 million yuan, at present has won more than 30,000 large orders, with the arrival of "Grevia", MPV market pattern will appear new changes, we may wish to wait and see.
