On November 22nd, Beijing off-road brand's new medium-and large-scale SUV "Beijing BJ60" was officially launched, with a total of five models with a price range of 23.98-285800 yuan. As a new medium and large SUV built off-road in Beijing, the new car uses a non-load-bearing body design, a 2.0T engine matched with a 48V light hybrid system, a standard four-wheel drive system, three differential locks and four-wheel independent suspension, which will compete with the same class of models such as Tank 500and Harvard H9.

In terms of appearance, Beijing BJ60 continues to use Beijing off-road family design language, the front face in the net uses the classic U-shaped five-hole grille design, and runs through the LED light group on both sides of the front to form an integration, surrounded by a large number of chrome decoration to create a hard design style. The lower bumper is decorated with matte chrome plating, with LED front fog lights on both sides, showing a more fashionable visual effect. On the side of the body, the new car has strong lines, the front and rear wings rise high and engraved with the word "Beijing", and the openings on both sides are equipped with water hoses and 18-or 20-inch rims. In the rear part, the design of the new car is relatively simple. The rear part uses the classic external spare tire to highlight the new car's hard cross-country identity, and the rear box is the exclusive side door design of the traditional hard off-road vehicle.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 5040/1955/1925mm, the wheelbase is 2820mm, and the positioning of medium and large SUV is between BJ40 and BJ80. For comparison, the length, width and height of the tank 500 are 5070/1934/1905mm and wheelbase 2850mm respectively.

In the interior part, the new car adopts the brand's latest design style, with a 10.25-inch full LCD dashboard, a 12.8-inch central control screen with a suspended design, and an interactive button on the 1.92-inch square screen with air conditioning outlet at the bottom of the central control screen. the air conditioning control area is designed with physical keys, and all electronic files use physical dialing bars or buttons. In terms of seat layout, the new car offers two options: 5 seats and 7 seats.

In terms of power, Beijing BJ60 is equipped with 2.0T engine + 48V light mixing system, maximum engine power 196kW, peak torque 406N ·m, transmission part, matching 8-speed automatic transmission. At the same time, the new car will also provide time-sharing all-wheel drive, front, middle and rear three differential locks, peristaltic mode, ATS all-terrain system and other equipment and functions to enhance cross-country capability.

In terms of market competition, the new car will compete directly with Tank 500, Harvard H9 and Roewe RX8 after its launch. For comparison, the tank has a price range of 33.50-395000, powered with a light hybrid system of 3.0T twin-turbocharged engine + 48V motor, which matches the 9AT gearbox, while the Harvard H9 has a price range of 21.48-279800, with a 2.0T turbocharged engine and an 8-stop self-contained gearbox.

According to the official website, Beijing off-road brands currently sell models including BJ30 (10.58-125800 yuan), BJ40 (15.98-269900 yuan), BJ80 (29.49-398000 yuan) and BJ90 (99.8-1.288 million yuan). Among them, BJ30 and BJ40 are the entry cars of Beijing off-road brand. the new medium-and large-scale SUV "Beijing BJ60" will further improve the product line of Beijing cross-country brand. At the same time, fill the market gap between BJ40 and BJ80.

From January to October 2022, cumulative off-road sales in Beijing fell 19.54 per cent year-on-year to 18405 vehicles, of which October sales fell 22.46 per cent to 1422 vehicles, with a market share of 0.09 per cent, according to digital purchases of new car traffic insurance. In terms of specific models, new car traffic insurance data show that from January to October of 2022, BJ40L sales fell 14.31 per cent year-on-year to 15458; BJ80 fell 42.42 per cent to 1741; BJ30 fell 20.35 per cent to 552; and BJ90 grew 39.0 per cent year-on-year to 278.
