Ford said a ruptured injector could cause fuel or fuel vapor to accumulate near the hot surface and cause a cockpit fire, but fires are rare. So far, Ford has received reports of 20 vehicle fires, three of which caused fires in nearby buildings, and four were found less than five minutes after the engine was turned off.

Reported that Ford has not yet begun to repair the vehicles involved in safety risks, but the owner can drive the vehicle to the dealer, and the dealer will update the engine control software to detect the ruptured injector and remind the owner through the dashboard information. In addition, the updated engine control software will cut off the power of the engine in order to reduce risk. Ford said in a statement that it plans to write to users from December 19, informing the owners of the vehicles involved in the above faults to go to the dealers for inspection, which will check the injectors and replace them if necessary. Ford also said it would extend the warranty to 15 years.
