SAIC Volkswagen Lingdu L is built based on MQB Evo platform. In terms of appearance, the new car continues the design style of the model on sale. The front face adopts large-area air intake grille, and uses through-type integrated LED headlights. The hood with very large inclination radian gives people a very low visual effect with high recognition. On the side of the body, the new car adopts slip-back styling design and is equipped with frameless doors. In terms of rims, the new car provides 16-inch and 17-inch rims for consumers to choose from. In terms of configuration, the new car can be equipped with front bumper, through-type headlights, rear camera, through-type tail lamp, rear bumper styling, side window bright trim strip, skylight, etc. At the rear part, the car adopts hatchback tailgate design, with the popular through-type taillights, taillights and through-type LOGO can be lit together to echo with the front face, and the trunk is equipped with integrated spoiler design, adding sportiness. Different from the current model, the new car also carries the "200TSI" logo at the rear.

The interior has not been announced yet. As a reference, Lingdu L currently on sale adopts Volkswagen's latest family design style and is equipped with the current popular dual-screen central control design. In March 2022, SAIC Volkswagen launched a brand-new generation of Lingdu L, with a price range of 149,900 - 189,900 yuan. As a replacement model, Lingdu L has made great changes in all aspects. The appearance and interior adopt brand-new design styles, such as frameless door, sliding back shape and design style integrated into ID. family, etc. The overall shape is completely different from the calm style of the masses in the past, and the interior space is also obviously improved. According to the price of the brand-new generation Lingdu L, Lingdu L is almost a higher-priced model among compact cars. As a comparison, the price range of Chang 'an UNI-V of the same level is 1089 - 139,900 yuan; the price range of Honda Civic is 1299 - 187,900 yuan; and the price range of Mazda 3 Angkesela is 1159 - 189,900 yuan. With the exposure of the new model declaration map, the new car or soon after the launch, the new car will further enrich the Volkswagen Lingdu L product line, but also reduce the starting price of the Volkswagen Lingdu L model, providing consumers with more car purchase options.

According to the traffic insurance data, the cumulative sales volume of Lingdu in 2021 was 61137 vehicles, down 11.2% year-on-year. After entering the market of the new generation Lingdu in 2022, the sales volume will grow strongly.
