As a modified model, the new car has little change in appearance and interior design, but it updates and optimizes the configuration and carries a 1.5T engine for the first time. For comparison, the 1.5T version starts at 32000 yuan lower than the 2.0T version.

The appearance of the 1.5T version with more entry-level displacement is basically the same as that of the 2.0T model, the only difference may be that the tail mark is different, 2.0T tail mark "28T", while 1.5T is "25T". In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with GM's eighth generation Ecotec 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 204hp and a maximum torque of 270Nm, while the 2.0T four-cylinder engine will have a maximum power of 237hp and a maximum torque of 350Nm. In terms of transmission system, the eight-speed manual self-integrated gearbox is matched with the two types of power. It is worth mentioning that both 1.5T and 2.0T models adopt the front and rear drive layout, and the chassis also adopts the setting of the front double ball joint spring and rear five-link independent suspension, which is not treated differently because of the high and low configuration. Cadillac still has some sincerity at this point.

First of all, the price difference between the two 1.5T models is 12000 yuan, the main difference lies in the addition of LED interior atmosphere lights, co-driver seat 6-way electric adjustment / 2-way electric waist support, reversing image, front parking radar, 14 speakers Bose Premium premium series audio, rainfall induction wiper, lane maintenance assistance, side blind area auxiliary warning, leather seats and so on. In addition, 1.5T luxury optional V sports kit, the optional price is 5000 yuan.

The price difference between 1.5T luxury model and 20T luxury model is 20,000 yuan. In addition to engine displacement, 2.0T luxury model has more front seat heating function and sandalwood / cinnamon brown interior color matching. As for the price difference of 8000 yuan between the two 2.0T models, the configuration differences are mainly V sports kit, berry color interior color matching, co-driver seat 8-way electric adjustment, front seat 4-way electric waist support, driver seat memory function (two groups), front sports seat with electric lateral support adjustment and front row leg support adjustment and so on.

Although the price of the Cadillac CT4 has fallen to 219700 yuan, not more than 200000 yuan, the terminal market discount is about 40, 000 yuan, and the price of naked cars has fallen to 180000 yuan after the discount. Of course, the discount range varies in different regions, and in the early days of the new car market, coupled with the current off-season sales, the discount in some areas is lower.

It is understood that Cadillac is currently on sale, including CT4, CT5, CR6, XT4, XT5 and XT6, of which CT4 is the only one with 1.5T engine. In spite of this, CT4's sales in the market are relatively mediocre, and the launch of the 1.5T model is also intended to make a further breakthrough in the sinking market. According to the insurance figures, Cadillac sales from January to October 2022 were 161000, down 24.41% from the same period last year, of which CT4 sold only 8432, down 40.22% from the same period last year.

Judging from the price of the 2023 Cadillac CT4, although it is positioned as a luxury brand entry-level car, it is completely competitive with medium-sized cars such as Honda Accord (16.98-259800 yuan), Toyota Camry (17.98-269800 yuan), Buick Regal (19.68-249800 yuan) and Ford Mondeo (15.98-218800 yuan). It also competes with compact cars such as Audi A3, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1-Series.

Compared with the former, Cadillac CT4 has good advantages in brand, power and handling, but the space is at an absolute disadvantage, so it is difficult to attract family users; compared with the latter, the advantage of Cadillac CT4 is also reflected in power and control, but there is no advantage in car cost and space. Compared with the entry-level models of first-tier luxury brands, it is relatively weak in brand image.

In addition to market competition, Cadillac CT4 sales are relatively low, and there is also a Cadillac CT5 terminal discount, the price of the two models is not much different, under the consideration of all parties, consumers are still willing to spend more money to buy a model with more space, which is one of the reasons why Cadillac CT5 sales are getting better and the CT4 is getting worse.

It is understood that Cadillac plans to launch the Cadillac GT4 in mid-2023, and the new compact SUV will be built on the GM E2XX platform. Its competitors are expected to point to Mercedes-Benz GLAs, BMW X2 and Audi Q3 Sportback models, which have been declared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In terms of power, the Cadillac GT4, like the CT4, has two types of power: the 1.5L turbocharged engine marked "25T" and the 2.0L turbocharged engine marked "28T". Among them, the maximum power of 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is 150 kilowatts, and that of 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is 169 kilowatts.
