In November 2022, Volvo's European sales rose 15.8 per cent to 25960 vehicles, accounting for 43.88 per cent of total sales, while US sales rose 20.4 per cent to 9233, accounting for 15.60 per cent of total sales. China's sales fell 6.2 per cent to 12580, accounting for 21.26 per cent of total sales, making it the only market to decline. Volvo's cumulative sales in China fell 7.4 per cent year-on-year to 157034 vehicles from January to November 2022, including 10087 Recharge series models, 711 pure electric vehicles and 9376 plug-in hybrid system vehicles, according to data.
According to the official website, Volvo's domestic models in China include S90, S60, XC60 and XC40, of which S90, S60 and XC60 are plug-in hybrid models based on fuel vehicles, while XC40 is based on pure electric models based on fuel vehicles, but the performance of these models is mediocre. According to the insured volume, Volvo delivered a total of 172000 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 0.6% over the same period last year, including 65000 for Volvo XC60, 38000 for Volvo S90, 28000 for Volvo S60 and 20000 for Volvo XC90.

As one of the first traditional luxury brands to start electrification transformation in the Chinese market, Volvo has confirmed that it will stop the R & D and manufacture of internal combustion engines and realize the electrification of all models. On November 8, Volvo announced that Volvo would divest its 33% stake in Aurobay to Geely Holdings, saying that the divestment was another important step in Volvo's transformation into an all-electric car manufacturer, making Volvo the first carmaker to withdraw completely from the development and manufacture of internal combustion engines. According to the plan, 50% of Volvo's global annual sales in 2025 will be pure electric vehicles, and the rest will be hybrid vehicles.
