It is positioned as the responsible body of the end-to-end business in the smart car field, providing customers with smart car ICT components and solutions to help car manufacturers build good cars.

In October 2020, Zhengfei issued a resolution on the business management of smart car components, which mentioned that although the external environment has been changing over the past two years, it is clear that building an ICT infrastructure is Huawei's historical mission. The company once again reiterated that Huawei does not build complete vehicles, but focuses on ICT technology to help car companies build good cars and become the incremental parts provider of Intelligent Networked vehicles. Up to now, Huawei is still determined not to build complete cars to help car companies build good cars.

Although Huawei doesn't build a car, it almost built a car. On December 23, 2021, at Huawei's flagship winter product launch, the M5 model under the AITO brand jointly created by Huawei and Cyrus was officially launched. It is understood that Huawei has participated in the research and development, manufacturing, sales and other links of the brand, and it is regarded as a relatively high product in Huawei's current cooperative car brand. For example, the launch of the M7 uses Huawei Drive ONE pure electric drive extended-range platform, and is equipped with Huawei Hongmeng HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit. In addition, Huawei has placed its models in Huawei's offline stores and online malls, and even the product launches were held at Huawei's winter and summer product launches and completed by Yu Chengdong himself. In other words, although the AITO boundary is jointly built by Huawei and Selis, except for the whole car to be produced by Selis, including the design concept, core technology and sales channels basically come from Huawei.

Half a year after the release of the M5, the second production car, the M7, also came. On July 4, Huawei unveiled its second model, the M7, developed in cooperation with Cyrus. Like the M5, Yu Chengdong took up a lot of time to introduce the new car, while Zhang Xinghai, chairman of Cyrus, appeared nervous when he took the stage and quickly left after praising the M7. When talking about this car, Yu Chengdong once again showed the personal characteristics of "Yu Dazui". In his description, he not only used "the strongest in the world, none of them" and "the best smart parking in the world", but also compared the M7 with the brands and models of fuel vehicles such as BBA, Maybach and Toyota Elfa, and even targeted new energy models such as Tesla Model Y and the ideal L9, which was launched last week. At present, Selis can occupy a place in the new energy vehicle market, but also inseparable from Yu Chengdong's "wild words." Data show that the AITO brand interviewer series delivered 8260 new cars in November, the first decline since sales exceeded 10,000 for three months in a row. It is understood that due to the nationwide outbreak of the epidemic in November, especially AITO, where the factory is located in a high-risk area like Chongqing, it has put some pressure on the production and delivery of enterprises, as well as some AITO user centers and some Huawei experience stores. For Huawei, Cyrus is only one of the options, but it is unlikely to be the only one for Huawei. Huawei will cooperate with more car brands in the future, such as BAIC Jihu, Chery and so on.

If you rely too much on Huawei and cede the dominance of R & D and intelligence, the end result for Cyrus may be higher and higher investment and more and more share to Huawei.
