On the evening of December 12, SAIC GM Wuling officially announced Hu GE as the global spokesman of the Wuling brand. Wuling said that this hand-in-hand is a high degree of agreement between Wuling and Hu GE on the "light travel" of Wuling New Energy. "Hu GE with the same style" car-Wuling New Energy's first global model, Air ev, has been officially launched on the market, with a total of four models with a price range of 6.78-82800 yuan.

Based on the global architecture and global concept, the new car is Wuling's first new energy global vehicle, positioning mini electric vehicle, higher than Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, offering two-seater version and four-seater version of two layout options, respectively with the standard version and the advanced version of the configuration, of which the four-seater version is higher electric power than the two-seater version, the whole system has a range of 300km, and will compete with Baojun KiWi EV, zero run T03 and small ant after launch.

In terms of appearance, the overall design style of the new car is minimalist, with a closed front grille design, twice with penetrating LED daytime driving lights design and the popular split headlamp group, and the upper LED penetrating belt edge is decorated with strips and extends to the rearview mirrors on both sides, making the new car look more young and dynamic. In addition, the charging port of the new car is set in the center of the front face, the four-seater model is equipped with a fast charging interface, and the new car also has a brand LOGO on the charging cover plate to enhance the identification of the whole car.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts the mainstream mini car box shape in the market, An and B columns are smoked and blackened to create a suspended roof atmosphere, the side window area is large, and the door handle is designed vertically. Two-seater and four-seater models are designed with two doors, and provide four colors of light and white, blue, gray and coffee, which looks quite fashionable. In the rear part, the new car also adopts square shape and through-type taillight design, which echoes with the front face. The driving lights and brake lights on both sides of the rear part of the main light group are only under the rear windshield glass, and the inside of the new car through-type light belt also has Wuling LOGO logo.

In terms of body size, the new car provides two different wheelbase models, corresponding to two-seater and four-seater models, in which the two-seater model (standard wheelbase) is 2599/1505/1631mm and the wheelbase is 1635mm; the four-seater model (long wheelbase) is 2974/1505/1631mm and wheelbase 2010mm respectively. For comparison, the length, width and height of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV are 2917/1493/1621mm, the wheelbase is 1940mm, and the overall size of the new car is slightly larger than that of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV.

In the interior part, the color matching of the new car interior adopts a dark and light two-color theme, and the overall layout is very simple. The advanced version of the center console is equipped with a 10.25inch double screen, built-in Wuling self-developed Ling OS telepathy system, and uses knob-type air conditioning control keys and knob-type electronic shift mechanism, which is higher than the current Wuling Hongguang MINI EV macaron configuration; the standard version is equipped with 7-inch LCD instruments.

In terms of power, the new car is driven by a single motor, the maximum power of the two-seater motor is 30kW, the peak torque is 110Nm; the maximum power of the four-seater motor is 50kW, the peak torque is 140Nm, and the pure electric mileage under the whole CLTC is 300km.

As Wuling's first new energy global model, the new car went on sale in Indonesia in August, with the 200km standard version priced at 238 million Indonesian rupees and the 300km long-lasting version priced at 295 million Indonesian rupees, equivalent to about 11-135000 yuan. SAIC GM Wuling officially delivered 300 Air ev on Oct. 26, local time, as the first Chinese new energy vehicle to enter the Indonesian market, and has since become the highest-selling new energy vehicle in a single month in Indonesia. According to the plan, the Air ev model will also be sold in India, Egypt and many countries and regions around the world.

With the domestic listing of the new car, there is one more optional model in the domestic market segment of the mini electric vehicle. As far as the current mini electric vehicle market is concerned, since SAIC GM Wuling launched Hongguang MINIEV as a popular model, this market segment has continued to be hot, and the price range of Chery QQ ice cream, Chery New Energy Little Ant, Reading Mango, Punk Duoduo, Lingbao BOX and Scenic MINIEV is also very close to Hongguang MINIEV, but it is not easy for these models to surpass Hongguang MinIEV in the short term. At present, Wuling Hongguang MINI EV's performance is still very eye-catching, while occupying a large share in the market segment.

According to the Federation of passengers, Hongguang MINIEV sold a total of 395500 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 250.7% over the same period last year. From January to November 2022, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV sales increased by 7.4% year-on-year to 370300, ranking first in the list of new energy cars. Chery QQ ice cream was 91900, up 2043.6% from the same period last year, ranking seventh on the list.
