A few days ago, SAIC Zhiji's new model, Zhiji LS7, was officially launched. as the second production model of Zhiji, the new car is located as a medium-and large-scale pure electric SUV, which is expected to be available in the first half of next year.
The new car and the Zhiji L7 are built on the same platform. In terms of appearance, the overall design basically continues the design language of the first model, the L7. The front face adopts closed air intake grille design, with split headlamp group on both sides, showing "L" shape, built-in LED eyebrow, front enclosure using three groups of ventilation opening design, both sides with LED daytime driving lights, the lower part is decorated with black ornaments, and the penetrating vent adds horizontal visual width effect to the whole front face.
On the side of the body, the lines of the new car are smooth, with a straight waistline running through the whole body, and the roof lines are more round. In the rear part, the new car adopts through-type taillight group, which is highly recognizable after lighting. The new car is also equipped with a large roof spoiler, which is surrounded by a double-decker design and has a full sense of movement. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5049, 2002 and 1731 (1763, 1773) mm respectively, the wheelbase is 3060mm, and the positioning is medium and large pure electric SUV.
In the interior part, the new car also uses the same layout of the Zhiji L7, equipped with a triple screen design composed of an LCD dashboard, a central control screen and a co-driver display screen, and is embedded in a narrow frame with a lifting function, officially known as the "semi-spoke steering wheel", with a built-in IM OS intelligent interaction system and a traditional steering wheel. In terms of power, the new car offers two options: rear-drive version and four-wheel drive version, in which the rear-drive version is equipped with permanent magnet synchronous rear motor with a maximum power of 250kW; the maximum power of the front motor of the four-wheel drive version is 175kW, the maximum power of the rear motor is 250kW, and the battery is made of ternary lithium material from SAIC era. As for the mileage, it has not been officially announced.
Judging from the performance of the new car, it is expected that the new car will compete with Xiaopeng G9, NIO ES8 and other models after its launch. As a reference, the current price range of Xiaopeng G9 is 30.99-469900 yuan; the ES8 of NIO is 49.6-656000 yuan.
According to the concern of the automobile industry, Zhiji Automobile is a high-end new energy brand jointly invested by SAIC, Alibaba and Shanghai Zhangjiang Group, of which SAIC invests 5.4 billion yuan to hold 54% equity. Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba each contributed 1.8 billion yuan to hold 18% equity. In addition, Zhiji's remaining 10 per cent stake is divided into 5.1 per cent of ESOP (core employee shareholding platform) and 4.9 per cent of CSOP (user rights platform). On December 25, 2020, Zhiji Automobile was officially established, and the brand LOGO was obtained from the variation of the two letters "IM", that is, two slashes were incorporated into the middle of the two dots. As a new automobile brand, Zhiji Automobile adopts a new structure and operation mode, but strictly speaking, the brand is still guided by SAIC. So far, Zhiji has only one product under Zhiji L7.
Zhiji L7 launched on April 17 this year, positioning pure electric medium and large cars, a total of two models, power equipped with a dual motor system, the system comprehensive maximum power of 425kW, maximum torque of 725Nm, the vehicle price is 368800-408800 yuan, of which Zhiji L7 Pro version sells for 408800 yuan, Zhiji L7 Dynamic version sells for 368800 yuan. In terms of competitive products, the car mainly competes with the new car-building force ET7, as well as traditional luxury brands such as the BBA BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6L.
As the first production model of the new high-end brand, Liu Tao, joint CEO of Zhiji Automobile, is very optimistic about the future performance of the car. Liu Tao personally labeled the car as a "treasure car". Liu Tao said: "the treasure is the meaning of the next online celebrity and the next popular style," so he firmly believes that a treasure car like the Zhiji L7 will become an online celebrity one day.
Although the Zhiji L7 was endorsed by SAIC, the sales performance of the car was mediocre after its launch. The data show that only 608 Zhiji L7 vehicles were delivered in November, with a total of 4545 vehicles delivered since its launch. In contrast, Zhiji L7 rival Ulai ET7 began delivery at the end of March and 3180 in November. By contrast, there is a huge gap in sales between the two models.
According to the official product plan, Zhiji LS7, the second model of Zhiji, will be launched in the first half of next year, when it will form a "double flagship" pattern with Zhiji L7. By 2023, Zhiji will also introduce two luxury intelligent pure electric B-class models to enter the mainstream luxury market segment.
