A video posted online showed that a car owner in Shaoyang, Hunan province, revealed that the newly bought BMW 3-Series spontaneously burned out in just 45 days, and said: "BMW cut corners and use all aluminum wire." In the video, the vehicle is burned into a skeleton shell, and a woman is standing on the roof to defend her rights.

The accident identification provided by the whistleblower shows that, after investigation, the cause of the vehicle fire is determined as follows: the time of the fire is about 16: 20 on August 15, 2022, and the fire site is located in the parking shed in the parking lot of Shirong Electronic liability Co., Ltd. the fire point is located at the connection between the battery and the distribution box in the rear of the BMW car, and the fire is caused by the failure of the BMW battery and the distribution box line.

On December 12, in response to the above fire, the staff of the 4S store involved said that the vehicle did not ignite spontaneously, the cause of the accident was still under investigation and the incident was being dealt with.

Shaoyang Han Tongbao BMW 4S store staff said: the vehicle involved is not spontaneous combustion, now is the first to find the cause of the accident. As for the protection of women's rights on the roof, they can only be persuaded to come down first to ensure personal safety. The above staff said that the car owner has been communicated and the incident is being dealt with, but the owner may not have received a satisfactory answer.

BMW officials have not yet responded to the above reports.
