AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/15 Report--
On December 14, Latin American New Car Collision Test Agency (Latin NCAP) announced the crash test results of Jianghuai E10X, Kia Sportage and Mitsubishi Outlander, among which Jianghuai E10X received zero rating, Kia Sportage and Mitsubishi Outlander received three-star and five-star ratings respectively. It should be noted that only the Jianghuai E10X is a mini car, and the other two are compact SUVs.
Although JAC E10X is a mini-car, its sporadic rating results still cause great controversy. It is understood that the JAC E10X scores 0.00% for adult occupants, 6.34% for child occupants, 20.25% for pedestrian protection and vulnerable road users, and 6.98% for safety assistance.
It is understood that Jianghuai E10X in the front 64km/h 40% offset collision, the body structure performance is very unstable, not only A pillar deformation bending, but also after the collision did not cut off the high voltage power supply, indicating that the emergency power-off function did not work normally. The same is true in side crashes, where the vehicle can still drive and move even if the system indicates that emergency power is activated, indicating that the power battery is still in working condition.
The Jianghuai E10X participating in the test only comes standard with two airbags, no head side airbag, blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking (AEB), speed limit system, lane assist system, etc. In addition, during the evaluation and testing of ESC electronic stability control system, JAC E10X experienced excessive tire wear, so that it had to stop testing at one point. This series of poor performances may be the main reason for its sporadic performance.
Latin NCAP states: "The unstable body structure and unstable floor rigidity of this model in frontal collision result in poor protection of the driver's chest, which means that the probability of endangering life is high, resulting in zero frontal collision safety for adults." According to the video released by Latin American NCAP, it can be seen that the front cabin of Jianghuai E10X has serious collapse. Although the airbag is normally opened, the collision agency believes that this degree of deformation has posed a threat to the life of the occupant.
Latin NCAP (Latin NCAP) is a new car evaluation system launched in recent years for Latin American new car safety testing and is a member of GLOBAL NCAP. Latin NCAP safety assessment results are mainly derived from frontal impact, side impact, neck sprain and pedestrian protection tests, most of which are independent of dynamic differences, but for electric vehicle post-crash situations, short-circuit risk and power failure ability of the vehicle are also evaluated.
For Jianghuai E10X received sporadic rating, netizens also expressed personal views.
It is understood that the corresponding model of Jianghuai E10X in China is Sihao E10X, which is the first pure tram type under Sihao brand. It was launched in March 2021 and sold for 399 - 75,900 yuan. At the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2021, Sihao E10X Flower Fairy was officially launched at a price of 699 - 76,900 yuan. It should be noted that Sihao E10X is sold abroad under the Jianghuai brand.
According to the data, Sihao was founded in April 2018 and released a brand-new brand for Volkswagen (Anhui) Co., Ltd.(formerly known as Jianghuai Volkswagen Co., Ltd.) jointly established by Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Volkswagen Group (China). Sihao is one of Volkswagen's sub-brands, including cars, SUVs and recreational vehicles, covering the traditional fuel vehicle and new energy vehicle markets. It is understood that Volkswagen China holds 75% of Volkswagen Anhui shares and has absolute say. According to the number of risks, the cumulative sales volume of Sihao brand in the first October of 2022 was 52747 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 5.79%, among which the highest sales volume was Sihao E10X, with a year-on-year growth of 85.96% to 33531 vehicles.
It is worth noting that JAC E10X is not the only one that has received a sporadic safety rating in Latin NCAP. According to the crash test results of LATIN NCAP, such as the old Tusheng, Chery iQ, Kia Picanto, Geely CK1, Lifan 320, Hyundai HB20, Chevrolet Sail, Ford Ka, Nissan Yida, Suzuki Alto and other models have been rated as zero stars.
GLOBAL NCAP Secretary-General David Ward also responded to this situation: "Unlike China's relatively complete automotive safety regulations, in many countries in Latin America, due to the lack of sound legal regulations, there is no minimum safety technical requirements." Therefore, in these countries, the production and sale of automobiles are not strictly uniform requirements. It is not only some Chinese brand models that get 0 stars in Latin NCAP tests, but also international brands such as Renault, Nissan, Kia and GM. Given this situation, we now hope that governments around the world will pay attention to minimum safety standards, establish regulatory requirements, gradually eliminate substandard products from the market, so that the vehicles under inspection can receive reasonable star ratings, and at the same time, consumers can only buy cars that meet the requirements."
