1. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. since January 20, 2023, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. recalled some imported CLS and E-class cars from January 11, 2018 to June 29, 2022, a total of 11353 vehicles. Since January 20, 2023, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. has recalled a total of 59177 domestic E-class cars manufactured between October 18, 2018 and March 8, 2021.
The reason for the recall is that the fixed devices of 12V batteries in the trunk of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may not be able to withstand the load caused by accidental collision, resulting in battery displacement. In extreme cases, the battery is disconnected from the electrical connection, resulting in the failure of safety protection functions such as emergency call, electric seat adjustment, hazard warning lights, automatic door unlocking and so on. In view of the above defects, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will install 12V battery fixtures for vehicles within the recall area free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers. to eliminate safety risks.
2. Beijing Mercedes-Benz Motor Co., Ltd. will recall a total of 950 EQE cars manufactured from July 14, 2022 to September 9, 2022 from December 30, 2022.
The reason for the recall is that there may be cracks in the right front steering knuckle of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, and the cracks will increase with the load while driving. In extreme cases, it may lead to the fracture of the steering knuckle, affect the maneuverability of the vehicle, increase the risk of collision, and there are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the right front steering knuckle for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers to eliminate safety risks.
3. Beijing Mercedes-Benz Motor Co., Ltd. will recall a total of 4877 domestic GLC cars manufactured from July 2, 2021 to October 21, 2021 from December 16, 2022.
The reason for the recall is that the vehicle location data provided by the host control unit software to the communication module is not accurate due to the design problems of the host software within the scope of the recall. When an emergency call is triggered automatically or manually, there is a deviation in the position of the vehicle sent to the Mercedes-Benz emergency call center, which may lead to a delay in rescue in the event of an accident and a safety hazard. In view of the above defects, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will update the mainframe control unit software for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers, in order to eliminate safety risks.
From the number of this recall, Mercedes-Benz recalled 76357 vehicles, including imported CLS, imported E-Class cars, domestic E-Class cars, EQE, domestic GLC, among which domestic E-Class cars had the highest recall scale, a total of 59177 vehicles. It should be noted that Mercedes-Benz has launched recalls in China many times. According to statistics, as of December 17, 2022, Mercedes-Benz has conducted a total of 21 recalls in China, including imported cars and electric vehicles.
