The new car is positioned as the flagship SUV of the Chery brand, offering a choice of 5-seat and 7-seat versions. The new car is expected to be released in the first half of next year and may cost around 200000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new car uses Chery's brand-new family style design, the front face part uses a large area polygonal intake grille design, the interior is supplemented by a vertical chromium-plated decorative bar straight waterfall design, the shape of the headlights on both sides is extremely narrow and sharp, the top is the daytime driving lights, and the middle net is connected to each other, the visual effect extends the width of the front face, and the bottom is the two lens headlamps, the interior uses matrix LED light source. In the rear part, the overall design of the new car is very simple, with a through taillight group design on both sides, and a slender trim linked to each other, with the brand LOGO embedded in the middle and a large area of white space at the bottom, which is very simple and atmospheric, and the rear enclosure is equipped with bilateral exhaust layout.

On the side of the body, the new car has rich lines, which is similar to the suspended roof design, and the roof line begins to decline from the A-pillar, creating a slip-back roof visual effect, and the door handle is a popular hidden design. In addition, the new car also blackens the rims to improve the sense of grade of the vehicle. According to the information in the declaration chart, the new car will provide three kinds of rims according to the configuration, and some models will be equipped with Michelin brand tires.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4820/1930/1699mm and the wheelbase is 2820mm. In terms of power, the new car is expected to be equipped with Kunpeng power 2.0TGDI engine, which is currently carried on Ruihu 8 series models, with maximum power 187kW, peak torque 390N ·m and comprehensive fuel consumption of 7.7L/100km.

Official figures show that Chery Group sold 100500 vehicles in November 2022, the sixth consecutive monthly sales of more than 100000 vehicles. From January to November 2022, Chery Group's cumulative sales increased by 32.6% year-on-year to 1.1273 million vehicles, reaching 75.12% of its annual sales target of 1.5 million vehicles. This also means that Chery holding Group may not be able to meet its annual sales target.

According to the official website, the current Chery holding passenger car business section is mainly composed of Chery Automobile, EXEED Star Road, Jetway, Chery Jaguar, Chery Land Rover, Kaiyi and other brands, covering entry-level to luxury-level products. In terms of brand segmentation, Chery is the most important source of sales for Chery Holdings. Data show that Chery sold 70800 vehicles in November, accounting for 70.41% of total sales, and cumulative sales in the first 11 months rose 45.8% year-on-year to 844000. As a reference, Starway sold 3866 vehicles in November, with a cumulative sales of 46800 in the previous November, while Jetta sold 17100 vehicles, with a cumulative sales of 158000 in the first 11 months.

At present, Chery Automobile's products include Ruihu series, Ai Ruize series and Oumengda three major product series, of which Ruihu series has Ruihu 8, Ruihu 7, Ruihu 3X and Ruihu 5X models on sale; Arize series has Arize GX and Erize 5 PLUS models for sale. Oomengda, the first model under Chery's new product line OMODA, was officially launched on July 12 as a compact SUV with a price range of 9.29-126900 yuan.

Among the many models, the Ruihu series is the main sales model of Chery. From January to November 2022, the cumulative global sales of the Ruihu 8 series and the Ruihu 7 series were 171000 and 146000 respectively, accounting for 37.56% of Chery's total sales. After entering 2022, Chery has launched a number of new cars, including Chery's new product series OMODA "O'Mengda", Ruihu 8 Pro, Chery Erize 5 GT, Arize 8, the new generation of Ruihu 7 PLUS and other models.

Arize 8 has sold 10453 vehicles since it went on sale on Sept. 26, including 4516 in October and 5937 in November, making it another popular model of Chery, according to the Federation of passengers. By contrast, the performance of Oumengda, the first model in Chery's new product line, is very mediocre, with a cumulative sales of only 7099 vehicles in the five months after it was launched as a new product. Among them, the sales from July to November were 812,1954, 2881, 803 and 649 respectively.

From the perspective of Chery's product positioning, the current Chery car positioning covers small SUV, compact SUV, medium-sized SUV and compact cars. With the exposure of the Ruihu 9 declaration map of the positioning flagship SUV, the new car will be listed in the near future, when the Chery car product rectangle will be further improved. Of course, whether the new car listing can make Chery car sales please climb to another high-rise building depends on the performance in the future.
