In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car uses a large intake grille, the interior of the grille uses a straight waterfall design style, and is filled with silver strips, and the headlights on both sides are highly recognizable. On the side of the body, the new car uses a large number of straight line design, the window part through the hidden B, C column and suspended roof design to enhance the fashion and luxury atmosphere of the new car, the door is equipped with side sliding door design. In the rear part, the design of the new car is also very simple, the taillight group adopts the design style that echoes the headlights, and there is the logo of "Beijing Automobile Factory" in the lower left corner of the rear.

In terms of body size, the new car provides two kinds of body size options, of which the short-axle version is 4860/1870/1945mm in length, width and height and the wheelbase is 2880mm, while the long-axle version is 5230mm in length and 3200mm in wheelbase, and other data are consistent with medium and large MPV positioning. In terms of seat layout, the new car offers two seat layout options: 2 "2" 3-type 7-seat and 2 "2-2" 3-seat 9-seat layout.

In terms of interior decoration, the overall layout of the new car is relatively simple, with a 10.25inch double screen design and built-in Linux operating system. In addition, in addition to the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, the standard equipment of the new car includes the main driving airbag, reversing radar, central control lock, remote control key, front row electric window, electric air conditioner and so on. In terms of power, the new car provides two power systems: fuel and CNG, in which the fuel version will be equipped with 1.6L and 2.0L engines, the maximum output power is 91kW and 106kW, the maximum torque is 161Nm and 200Nm102.0L CNG engine maximum power 90kW, the maximum torque 175Nm, all match the five-speed manual transmission.

Data show that from 2016 to 2021, the domestic MPV market sales fell from 2.4 million vehicles to 1.079 million vehicles, and the market share gradually decreased. Although MPV has a small market share, the domestic middle and high-end MPV market has entered a period of rapid development. Under the changes in the car market, more and more car companies have entered the MPV market, including Lantu Automobile, FAW Toyota, FAW Red Flag and Tengli Auto ace M7, and so on. As the first MPV model made by BAIC, from the positioning of the new car ace M7, the new car will mainly enter the door-level MPV market and will compete with Ruifeng M4, Wuling Cheng Cheng, Dongfeng Lingzhi and other models after listing.

From January to November of 2022, sales of the domestic MPV market fell 14.2% to 843000 vehicles compared with the same period last year, according to the Federation of Carriage data, of which the domestic MPV market sales in November were only 72000, down 13.8% from the same period last year and 11.7% from the previous month. In terms of specific models, according to the list of "Automotive Industry concern" statistics, the highest sales in November were only 8367 vehicles, which was Wuling Hongguang, down 48.8% from the same period last year, nearly halving; Buick GL8 sales fell 38.4% year-on-year to 6912 vehicles; Chuanqi M8 fell 7.4% to 6588 vehicles.
