In terms of appearance modeling, the new car continues the family-style design. The front face part adopts wide grille design, and dense banner silver chrome decorative strips are added inside for connection. The middle of the grille is the tank brand LOGO, and the shape of the headlight group is relatively wide. The LED light source in the lamp cavity adopts multi-level layout. The overall design makes the front face look very hard. According to the declaration information, the new car also provides another style of air intake grille design, the difference between the two grilles is mainly reflected in the shape and quantity of chrome trim strips inside the air intake grille.

On the side of the body, the new car uses a straight waistline design, which is similar to the overall shape of the tank 500. At the rear part, the new car adopts through-tail lamp design, with longitudinal light strips on both sides and silver guard plate at the bottom, so that the off-road performance of the whole tail is more obvious. As for the exhaust pipe of the new car, the hidden layout is adopted to enhance the overall effect of the tail.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4886(5078)/1934/1905mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2850 mm. According to the declaration information, the new car will also offer 19-inch and 20-inch rim options, corresponding to tire specifications 265/55 R19 and 265/50 R20 respectively.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system with a maximum power of 185 kilowatts. In terms of transmission system, it is still matched with 9HAT transmission independently developed by Great Wall. The difference lies in that the new car integrates a coaxial motor between engine and transmission, which can directly provide power output to wheels through clutch.

Tank brand is a high-end off-road brand owned by Great Wall Motor, while Tank 500 is a model owned by tank brand. The car was officially launched on March 18. It is equipped with 3.0T V6 turbocharged engine +9AT gearbox independently developed by Great Wall. The maximum power is 354 horsepower and the peak torque is 500N·m. It is the first model owned by Great Wall Motor to adopt 3.0T+9AT, and the price is 335,000 - 395,000 yuan.

According to the data, from January to November 2022, the cumulative sales volume of Great Wall Motors declined by 11.49% year-on-year to 990,100 vehicles, among which the tank brand increased by 55.39% year-on-year to 112,900 vehicles in the first November, which is the only brand under the five brands of Great Wall Motors to achieve year-on-year growth.

Up to now, tank brand models on sale include tank 300 and tank 500 models. According to the data of new vehicle traffic insurance, the cumulative sales volume of tank 300 in the first November is 93,600, with a year-on-year growth of 40.03%; while the cumulative sales volume of tank 500 since its launch in March is 15,800, which is OK as a new model. Since Great Wall Motor's tank brand launched 300 models, tank brand models have been receiving public attention. With the launch of the tank 500 PHEV plug-in hybrid system model, consumers will further balance the demand for high-performance and low-fuel consumption vehicles of hard-core off-road vehicles. In terms of price, it is expected that the new car will sell at a higher price than the fuel version tank 500 (335,000 - 395,000) currently on sale.
