Beijing off-road BJ90 Shanhe Classic model was officially launched on December 27th, with a total of two new models with a price range of 47.80-498000 yuan. New car owners hit the large SUV market, with a 3.0T V6 engine on the power. Different from the previous forms of public sales, the new car will turn to private sales after its launch, that is to say, ordinary consumers can now buy Beijing BJ90 models, and the price has been reduced. As a reference, the price of 2022 Beijing BJ90 3.0T models is 998000 yuan, compared with a 520000 yuan reduction for new cars.

The new car, jointly developed by Beijing off-road and Beijing Auto Deben Center, is based on the Daimlen X166 full-size SUV platform and is currently the largest SUV model under Beijing off-road. In terms of appearance, the overall shape of the new car is very strong, and the overall design style is highly similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz GL. The front face is designed with a large area iconic five-hole chromium-plated intake grille, with honeycomb chrome-plated strips embedded inside and fumigated and blackened, with square headlights on both sides for high recognition. In terms of the rear, the new car is relatively simple in shape, and the taillights on both sides are connected by a sturdy chrome-plated strip, which is also surrounded by chromium-plated treatment, so as to provide a sense of hierarchy for the promotion of the whole car. In terms of exhaust, two bilateral layouts are adopted.

The side shape of the car body is burly, and the waistline gradually rises upward from the beginning of the rear door, creating a forward diving effect visually. The length, width and height of the new car are 5171/1995/1902mm, wheelbase is 3100mm, positioning large SUV.

In terms of interior decoration, the central control layout of the new car is the same as that of the previous generation GL, full of Mercedes-Benz style. The center console of the new car is equipped with 3.5-inch LCD instrument and 10.4-inch central control screen, and is equipped with traditional pointer dashboard with three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, with functions such as 10 airbags, lane departure warning and front and rear seat heating. In terms of seat layout, the new car uses a 2x3 five-seat layout, and officials say the following new car will also launch a 4.0T model with a 2x2 four-seater layout.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 3.0T twin-turbocharged V6 engine codenamed M276, with a maximum power of 333 horsepower and a maximum torque of 480 Nm; in terms of transmission, it will match a nine-speed manual integrated gearbox, equipped with four-wheel drive system and active air suspension.

Beijing BJ90 is a large SUV under Beijing off-road, which is based on Mercedes-Benz GL. Beijing BJ90 was first unveiled in 2016, but it didn't officially go on sale until December 2019, with two models priced between 98.80 yuan and 1.288 million yuan, but not for ordinary consumers, but as a state travel queue, state guest protection and a special car for the G20 summit.

Data show that the cumulative sales of BJ90 in Beijing from 2020 to 2021 were 267and 1563 respectively. Sales from January to November in 2022 were 486. Of course, the new car market sales are not high for a reason, on the one hand, the brand and pricing, although the new car with Mercedes-Benz pedigree, but replaced with BAIC LOGO price is still as high as one million yuan, basically no advantage in the price, after all, it is very difficult for consumers to spend millions to buy a "Mercedes-Benz" hanging BAIC LOGO, of course, the more important reason is that the car is not sold to ordinary consumers. After the listing of Beijing BJ90 Shanhe Classic Edition, it has turned to private sales, and ordinary consumers can also buy it and the price has been reduced a lot. As for the future of the new car, it remains to be studied.
