Another car company is coming to seize the minicar market. Geely officially released a New year version of Geely Panda mini. According to previous plans, the new car will be officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show on December 30. The new car, equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery pack, will have a range of 200km and will compete with Wuling Hongguang MINIEV macarons, Changan Lumin and Chery QQ ice cream after its launch.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the "square box" design commonly used by mini electric vehicles, the front face adopts a closed grille design, the headlamp groups on both sides use cylindrical shape design, and the middle is a Geely brand letter logo as well as a charging interface. the lower perimeter is decorated with black chrome strips, showing an H shape, which is small and cute as a whole. On the side of the body, the shape of the new car is also square, the lines are smooth, the roof, window edge and A, B, C columns are smoked black, the lower part is equipped with three-spoke wheel design, full movement. In the rear part, the new rear light group also uses a circular design and embellishes black elements inside, with Geely brand letter logos in the middle to further highlight its identity, and the lower encirclement is wrapped in black.

In terms of size, the previous declaration information shows that the length, width and height of the new car are 3065/1522/1600mm, the wheelbase is 2015mm, and the positioning of the miniature pure electric vehicle. For comparison, the length, width and height of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV macaron are 2920/1493/1621mm, and the wheelbase is 1940mm. By contrast, the length and wheelbase of the new car are higher than those of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV macaron.

The interior part, the layout of the new car is relatively simple. The interior color matching offers a combination of pink + white and green + black, with a 9.2-inch color dashboard with an 8-inch floating central touch screen, a knob shift mechanism and a mechanical handbrake. The new car also retains air-conditioning control entity buttons and provides two USB charging interfaces. In the seat layout, the new car adopts a four-seat layout. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 30 kilowatts, and the power battery will be provided by Guoxuan Hi-Tech, and the power performance of the motor will be close to that of mainstream models of the same class.

With Geely Panda on the market, there will be one more optional model for the domestic market segment of mini electric vehicles. As far as the current mini electric vehicle market is concerned, since SAIC GM Wuling launched the Hongguang MINIEV as a popular model, this market segment has continued to be hot and includes Chery QQ ice cream, Chery New Energy Little Ant, Reading Mango, punk Duoduo, Lingbao BOX and Scenic MINIEV. The price range is also very close to that of Hongguang MINIEV, but it is not easy for these models to surpass Hongguang MinIEV in the short term. At present, Wuling Hongguang MINI EV's performance is still very eye-catching, while occupying a large share in the market segment. In terms of sales data, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV is still strong, and Geely Panda mini, as a latecomer, is obviously not easy to seize the mini-car market with it.

According to the Federation of passengers, Hongguang MINIEV sold a total of 395500 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 250.7% over the same period last year. From January to November 2022, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV sales increased by 7.4% year-on-year to 370300, ranking first in the list of new energy cars. Chery QQ ice cream was 91900, up 2043.6%, ranking seventh on the list.
