Therefore, many media believe that Zhengwei Group's layout of many industries in Chengdu, including new energy vehicles, may bring a new turnaround for Weima Motor, which is in trouble. Zhengwei Group ranks 76th among the Fortune 500 companies announced by Fortune in 2022, with an annual income of 722.754 billion yuan. Its main business is the traditional non-ferrous metals industry.

Founded in 2015 and founded by Shen Hui, former vice president of Geely Holdings Group, Weimar, headquartered in Shanghai, was once one of the new power's leading car companies, but Weimar has not been very peaceful since 2022, especially in the second half of the year. there is a lot of negative news about Weimar in the market, including pay cuts, layoffs, shop closures, or acquisitions.

Reviewing the development process of Weima Automobile, in fact, compared with the current mainstream "Wei Xiaoli", Weima Automobile has more abundant resources, including two self-built factories with a production capacity of 250000 vehicles, a financing scale of more than 30 billion yuan, and more than 600 distribution stores. Since then, it has been speeding up the development of the car manufacturing industry. EX5, the first model of Weima, was first launched in September 2018, when most of the new domestic car-building forces were still in the PPT car-building stage. According to the data, Weima ranked second in the new power car company with a delivery volume of 16900 vehicles in 2019 (20600 delivered by NIO and 16700 by Xiaopeng). After that, Weima's sales began to decline year after year, of which only 44200 were delivered in 2021. For comparison, "Wei Xiaoli" delivered more than 90, 000 vehicles. In 2022, the problem of low sales of Weima became more and more serious. Shen Hui, founder, chairman and CEO of Weima Motor, said at an online forum in early December that Weima has planned internationalization measures, with potential markets including Germany, the United States and Belt and Road Initiative countries. Shen Hui also said that in the next five years, the new vehicle penetration rate of China's new energy vehicles will exceed 50%, while for new energy vehicle companies, the first half of the competition is not over. In the past, the traditional fuel vehicle market was ten times bloodier than the current competition for new energy vehicles.

In addition to the sluggish sales, since 2023, it has been revealed that many companies have asked the court to seize and freeze Weima's property with a total value of about 130 million yuan. for the current Weima, it is very important to get a sum of life-saving money. Of course, if the above news is true, the entry of Zhengwei Group may also bring new opportunities for Weima, but at present, the competition in the new energy car market is very fierce, under this background, it is not clear whether Weima can get out of the predicament.
