It should be noted that the recall was carried out in the context of the defect investigation initiated by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. The reason for this recall is that due to software problems, the black screen of the combined instrument may occur and the necessary vehicle information (such as speed, etc.) may not be displayed, and there is a safety risk. In view of the above defects, brilliance BMW Co., Ltd. will be free of charge for the recall of vehicles within the scope of software programming, in order to eliminate safety risks.

Domestic 5-Series is a medium and large sedan owned by brilliance. According to the latest figures, BMW delivered 791985 new cars in China in 2022, of which BMW 5-Series sold 171100 vehicles, making it the best-performing model among BBA products.

The BMW 5-Series model, which is the fifth generation standard wheelbase version, was first produced in China in October 2003. In November 2006, brilliance BMW launched the BMW 5-Series long wheelbase version for the Chinese market. In 2007, the BMW 5-Series was redesigned in the medium term. When the sixth-generation BMW 5-Series was launched in 2010, the appearance design of this generation of BMW 5-Series was not as radical as that of the previous generation, but there was a significant improvement in interior decoration and power. the new car interior uses a new three-spoke steering wheel styling design. a lot of leather and metal have been added to the car to enhance the sense of technology. In addition, the new car has abandoned the former McPherson independent suspension used in the previous generation and replaced it with a double forked arm independent front suspension. The power is equipped with a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine at the top of the 550i, which is matched by an 8-speed manual self-contained transmission.

The seventh-generation BMW 5-Series officially launched in 2018, the new car, like the new 7-Series, is based on the CLAR platform and adopts a similar design style of the 7-Series. The model currently on sale is the seventh-generation BMW 5-Series, with a price range of 43.39-551900 yuan. From 2016 to 2021, BMW 5-Series sales were 143200, 121000, 133100, 135900, 134500 and 149,200, respectively, according to the narrow passenger car sales data of the Federation of passengers. The recall accounted for about 63.54 per cent of the total sales from 2019 to 2020.

Earlier, a new generation of BMW 5-Series spy photos have been posted online, and the car is expected to be launched this year and become the eighth generation of brilliance BMW 5-Series. It is reported that the new BMW 5-Series will provide fuel, plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions, and will continue to compete with Audi A6L and Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the future.
