At the same time, the number of recalls has been less than 5 million since 2015.

Judging from the above recall list, Tesla beat many brands to the top of the 2022 domestic recall list. In 2022, Tesla conducted a total of six recalls, different from other car companies. Tesla's domestic recalled vehicles can upgrade the software of the recalled vehicles through vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and users can complete the recall without going to the store. According to official data released by Tesla, Tesla sold 1.3139 million vehicles in 2022, of which 712900 were delivered in the Chinese market. In terms of the number of recalls, Tesla recalled more than 790000 vehicles (covering some imported models) in 2022, and the number of recalls is still large. For comparison, Tesla recalled 542814 vehicles in the domestic market in 2021, second only to Mercedes-Benz, Wuling and Toyota, and far higher than luxury brands such as BMW and Audi.

The reason for the recall is that the manufacturing size of the manual transmission parts of some vehicles within the recall scope is too poor, resulting in insufficient gear holding force, which may cause 6 gears occasional derailment under specific operating conditions, resulting in temporary interruption of power transmission of the vehicle. in extreme cases, there may be safety risks. In view of the above defects, SAIC GM Wuling Motor Co., Ltd. will carry out free inspection for vehicles within the scope of the recall, and free replacement of gearbox maintenance components for vehicles confirmed to be defective after inspection, in order to eliminate safety risks.

The number of German and independent recalls in 2022 is less than 1.2 million. According to the breakdown of the car department, a total of 6 German brands recalled a total of 1198533 passenger cars, accounting for 26.74% of the total recall, ranking first. Among them, the number of recalls of the Mercedes-Benz brand is 567545, although the number of recalls has declined before, the recall frequency is still very high. A total of 21 recalls were launched throughout the year, making it the only brand with the highest recall frequency on the list. Specific recall models, in addition to traditional mainstream models, including EQA, EQB, EQC, EQE, EQS and other EQ series electric vehicles are also within the recall range. For comparison, Mercedes-Benz had 17 recalls totaling 2781204 passenger cars in 2021, topping the 2021 domestic recall list.

In terms of independent brands, a total of nine brands recalled a total of 1116751 passenger cars in 2022, accounting for 24.92%, ranking second. From the perspective of major brands, the largest number of recalls is SAIC GM Wuling brand, recalling a total of 609779 vehicles. In addition to SAIC GM Wuling, independent brands including Chery, BYD, FAW Pentium and other independent brands have had recall measures during the year.

As for Japanese and American brands, the number of recalls in 2022 exceeded 860000. Among them, 9 Japanese brands recalled a total of 876936 passenger cars, accounting for 19.57%; the United States recalled a total of 4 brands recalled 863611, accounting for 19.27%. Tesla recalled the highest number of brands, but also the largest number of recalled brands in the year. Korean Hyundai, Kia, Genisse 3 brands recalled a total of 363658 passenger cars in 2022, accounting for 8.11% of the total recall.
