According to the latest production and sales data released by the China Automobile Association, domestic car production and sales in 2022 were 27.021 million and 26.864 million respectively, an increase of 3.4% and 2.1% respectively compared with the same period in 2021. Compared with the same period in 2021, production was basically the same, and sales fell 1.7%.

So far, domestic car companies have released sales data for 2022. BYD: 1.2 million vehicles / 156% completion rate

BYD's sales have skyrocketed since withdrawing from the fuel car market in April. Hit by the epidemic, lack of core and other factors, Geely has failed to achieve the set sales target for three years in a row, but Geely will launch a number of new new energy vehicles in 2023. Considering that Geely's current new energy transformation is still relatively slow, as far as the current car market is concerned, it is also challenging for Geely to achieve its annual sales target of 1.65 million vehicles in 2023. Changan Automobile: 2.45 million vehicles / 95% completion rate

According to the data, the cumulative sales of Changan Automobile in 2022 was 2.346 million, up 1.98% from the same period last year, including its Changan Ford down 17.61% to 251000 and Changan Mazda down 21.43% to 104000. At present, Changan Automobile's new energy sales mainly rely on products such as Changan Deep Blue SL03 and Changan LUMIN. Chery: 1.5 million vehicles / completion rate of 82%

According to Chery's production and sales data, Chery Automobile Group sold 1.234 million vehicles in 2022, an increase of 28.2% over the same period last year, exceeding 1 million for the first time, but the completion rate was only 82%. Subdivided into major brands, the Chery automobile brand is still the main source of sales of the Chery Automobile Group. The annual sales of the Chery automobile brand in 2022 was 908600 vehicles, an increase of 38.3 percent over the same period last year. Among the specific models, Chery launched a number of new cars in 2022, including Chery's new product series OMODA "O'Mengda", Ruihu 8 Pro, Chery Erize 5 GT, Erize 8, the new generation of Ruihu 7 PLUS, etc., except for the good sales performance of Erize 8, other models do not have much sense of presence in the car market. Great Wall: 1.9 million vehicles / 56% completion rate

According to the data, the cumulative sales of Great Wall cars in 2022 were 1.067 million, down 16.66% from the same period last year, and the completion rate was only 56%, a far cry from the annual sales target. During the year, except for the tank brand, the five major brands of Great Wall Motor showed varying degrees of decline, including Harvard down 19.93% year-on-year to 616500 vehicles, Wei Brand down 37.66% year-on-year to 36400 vehicles, and Euler down 22.98% to 104000 vehicles.

Although the major brands of Great Wall launched a number of models in 2022, such as Harvard Cool Dog, Harvard H6 hybrid, Euler Ballet Cat, Lightning Cat and so on, sales are very mediocre, and the once-glorious Harvard H6 model has now fallen to the altar, with cumulative sales of only 242500 vehicles for the whole year, down 32.68% from the same period last year. To reverse the decline in sales, Great Wall has adjusted the organizational structure of its entire brand, including the management teams of Euler and Sharon, Wei Brand and Tank.

In addition to the above car companies, among a number of new car-building forces in China, three car companies, Guangzhou Automobile Eian, Nezha Automobile and Polar Krypton Automobile, have achieved their annual sales targets in 2022 as scheduled, of which Naha cars have overtaken Wei Xiaoli by 152000. In the "Wei Xiaoli" camp, all three car companies missed the annual sales target. The ideal car completed 67% of the 200000 vehicles; Xiaopeng completed 48% of the 250000 vehicles; Lulai completed 81% of the 150000 vehicles; and the second-tier brand completed 93% of the 120000 zero-running cars.

The most noteworthy aspect of other brands is the question brand. At the beginning of 2022, Yu Chengdong confidently set a target for AITO car sales of 300000 vehicles in 2022. Unfortunately, affected by the automobile supply chain and the shortage of chips, Yu Chengdong had to change his tune and said: "it is impossible to achieve 300000 vehicles at all. It is a miracle that 10-200000 vehicles can be completed in the first year." The data show that a total of 75000 new cars were delivered in 2022, although this figure is a far cry from the initial target of 300000, but it was delivered more than 10,000 times during the year, and its performance as a brand-new brand is OK.

According to the car companies in the list, although only BYD achieved its sales target in 2022, compared with joint venture brands, more than one independent brand performed well in 2022, especially the pace of transition to new energy is getting faster and faster.
