In the Chinese market, Dongfeng Peugeot will launch the Peugeot 408X model this year. The new car is based on the Peugeot EMP2 platform and officially made its debut on January 5 this year. Judging from the official website, Dongfeng Peugeot has a large number of models but mediocre sales. According to new car traffic insurance data, Dongfeng Peugeot sold 30405 vehicles in 2022, down 10.48% from the same period last year. Among the subdivided models, Peugeot 4008 sold 5371 vehicles in 2022; Peugeot 2008 2375 vehicles; Peugeot 5008 1935 vehicles, logo e2008 only 8 vehicles, the market performance is not good. As for the Peugeot 408, the main sales force of Dongfeng Peugeot, since the launch of the new Peugeot 408 on Aug. 21, its retail sales in the September-December period were 2147, 3045, 2465 and 3918 respectively, while the new 5008 sold only 735 vehicles in December after it went on sale on November 25.

At present, Dongfeng Peugeot still lacks popular models. Although Peugeot 408 is the main sales force of Dongfeng Peugeot, considering that the competition in the compact car market is particularly fierce, the new Peugeot 408 faces a lot of competitive pressure after its listing. Dongfeng Peugeot still needs to launch more convincing products if it wants to win the market.
