The new car is built based on the hatchback version of the style. from the latest official picture, the shape of the front face of the new car is similar to that of the hatchback version currently on sale, with a flattened design as a whole. both sides are equipped with long and narrow headlights and are connected to the central grille, and the front is decorated with black horizontal strips, with the raised ribs on the front cover of the engine. The shape of the three-stage air intake further strengthens the sense of movement of the whole vehicle.

On the side of the car body, the new car adopts a slip-back design style, a straight waistline runs through the whole car body, and the front and rear wing plate is slightly wider than the car body, so the whole car has a strong movement flavor. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4563, 1802 and 1415 (1420) mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2735mm. According to the official picture, the new car will be available in hot yellow and star and moon white colors.

In the rear part, the new car also uses the slip-back design, the overall layout looks relatively compact, the taillight group is equipped with the popular through taillight design, and the exhaust is a bilateral two-way layout.

The car is based on the same platform of Dongfeng Honda Civic and can be regarded as a sister model of Dongfeng Honda Civic. Its exterior design and interior layout are basically the same as that of Dongfeng Honda Civic, but its configuration is slightly higher than that of Dongfeng Honda Civic. Its BOSE sound system with 2 speakers and NFC card key is the first Honda car model with BOSE audio in China. In terms of power, the car is equipped with a high-power 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 182 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240N ·m. The transmission system matches the CVT gearbox and the 6-speed manual gearbox.

As a two-car strategic model of Honda in China, the Guangzhou Automobile Honda model was favored by market consumers after its listing. According to the official data released at that time, the order volume exceeded 10,000 vehicles only two weeks after the launch of the Honda model, which shows the popularity of the market. According to new car traffic insurance data, Guangzhou Auto Honda sold 79900 vehicles in 2022, an increase of 6422.92% over the same period last year, accounting for 11.05% of Guangzhou Automobile Honda's total sales (723000 vehicles). For comparison, Dongfeng Honda Civic sales were 150900, down 7.10% from a year earlier, accounting for 23.39% of Dongfeng Honda's total sales (645100). Judging from the sales data of the two models, there is still a big difference between the sales of the model and the Civic, and the most direct competitor after the launch of the GAC Honda HATCHBACK is the Dongfeng Honda Civic HATCHBACK. As for whether the model can lead the Civic at that time, we might as well wait and see.

On December 16, 2022, the model e:HEV was officially launched, and the new car launched a total of three models with a price range of 16.39-186900 yuan. The power is equipped with the fourth generation 2.0L i-MMD dual-motor hybrid power system, the maximum power is 105kw and the maximum torque is 182N ·m.
