In terms of appearance, some of the design elements of the Feifan F7 draw lessons from the Aura concept car released at the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show. The front face adopts the common closed design of pure electric models, but the front enclosure bottom still retains the three-section diversion groove design, which can not only ensure the heat dissipation of the drive system, but also reduce the wind resistance to a certain extent. The headlight group adopts a split design, and the LED daytime driving lights located on both sides of the front face are not only long and narrow, with internal details, but also show the style of feathers as a whole.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts a slip-back design similar to that of a sedan car, with frameless doors and windows and hidden door handles to create a unique sense of movement. At the rear of the vehicle, the new car uses a through taillight, but the center of the LED light belt is cut off by the glowing R LOGO. The vents on both sides are decorative parts, but after collocation, the shape of the large-size diffuser surrounding the bottom further enhances the sense of movement of the tail. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5000/1953/1494mm and the wheelbase is 3000mm.

Interior decoration, Feifan F7 basically continued the design of Feifan R7, the overall visual effect is very simple, in part of the details have been adjusted. The center console uses the same triple screen of Feifan R7, which consists of a 10.25inch full LCD meter, a 15.05inch OLED central control screen and a 12.3inch co-driver entertainment screen. It is equipped with a RISING OS intelligence module interactive system and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The entire central control screen is covered by the screen, there is a large central handrail in the front row, and there is a huge storage space below the central control area. The steering wheel of the new car uses two-color color matching, the button is relatively simple, compared with the steering wheel on the Feifan R7, the styling style is more traditional. In addition, the back row provides an 8-inch entertainment screen, which can not only control the seat and multimedia system, but also play iqiyi videos.

In terms of power, the Feifan F7 offers two power versions: single-motor rear-drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive. Among them, the maximum power of the single-motor rear-drive model is 250kW, the peak torque is 450N ·m, and the acceleration time of 0-100km / h is 5.7s; the comprehensive power of the dual-motor four-wheel drive model is 400kW, the peak torque of the system is 700N ·m, and the acceleration time of 0-100km / h is 3.7s. Whether it is a dual-motor model or a single-motor model, the Feifan F7 offers both power-changing and non-power-changing versions, and the CLTC integrated battery life has two versions: 600km and 666km.

The predecessor of Feifan Automobile is SAIC R, and SAIC R belongs to SAIC Roewe's independent new energy brand. On May 10, 2020, SAIC Roewe held the brand launch event of "Roewe New National Tide", officially announced the launch of the "double standard" strategy of "R standard" and "new lion standard", and released a number of new cars. SAIC Roewe said that the new R standard will become the exclusive symbol of the high-end new energy models, and the planned models under the R standard include the flagship MARVEL series and the car ER series. On July 24, 2020, R Automobile was unveiled at Chengdu Auto Show with its models R ER6 and MARVEL R. On August 13, 2020, R ER6, a subsidiary of R Automobile, was officially listed with a price of 16.28-200800 yuan after comprehensive subsidy. On February 7, 2021, MARVEL R, a subsidiary of R Automobile, was officially listed with a subsidised price range of 21.98-239800 yuan.

On October 29, 2021, SAIC officially announced that the original R brand of SAIC passenger car Branch will officially carry out market-oriented operation in the way of an independent company, which is called "Feifan Automobile" in Chinese. In the future, Feifan Automobile will focus on 200000 to 400000 yuan of middle and high-end new energy intelligent products, and Zhiji Automobile will jointly assume the important task of SAIC Group's breakthrough in the high-end electric intelligence new track. As SAIC R becomes Feifan independently, the original ER6 and MARVEL R models have also been changed to Feifan ER6 and Feifan MARVEL R. On September 27th, 2022, Feifan R7 officially launched, the new car is the first model launched by Feifan independently, positioning medium and large pure electric SUV, the subsidized price is 28.99-356900 yuan, and delivery begins in November.

In order to promote the power exchange mode, Feifan joined Sinopec, SAIC, Ningde Times and Shanghai International Automobile City Group in September to establish Jiereng Zhidian. According to the plan, it will build about 40 integrated service energy stations in 2022 and 300 next year.

Insurance figures show that Feifan sold 14669 cars in 2022, an increase of 0.34% over the same period last year.
