On Feb. 6, Geely Panda mini officially launched four new models with a price range of-10,000 yuan. As a two-door four-seat mini electric car, the new car will become a competitor to Hongguang MINIEV, Chery QQ ice cream and Changan waxy corn.

In terms of appearance, Geely Panda mini uses the usual "square box" shape of mini electric cars, the new car is embellished with rose gold trim in the closed front grille, the headlight group uses a circular design, the overall design is cute, and the black roof design really reminds us of the appearance of national treasures. On the side of the body, the whole new car still retains the "square box" design concept of the mini electric vehicle, and the roof, window edge and A, B, C columns are all fumigated. In the rear part, the new car also adopts a relatively simple design, and the more square taillights fit with the overall design of the car body, with "Geely" and "Panda mini" logos on both sides. In terms of size, Geely Panda mini has a length, width and height of 3065/1522/1600mm and a wheelbase of 2015mm. For comparison, the length, width and height of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV macaron are 2920/1493/1621mm, and the wheelbase is 1940mm. By contrast, Geely Panda mini has more length and wheelbase than Wuling Hongguang MINIEV macaron.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car adopts a relatively rare asymmetric design, and the central control operation area is relatively close to the side of the co-driver. The new car uses a dual-amplitude steering wheel and is equipped with a 9.2-inch narrow strip LCD instrument with an 8-inch suspended central control screen, creating a good technological atmosphere. Subject to positioning and cost, the whole center console and the inside of the door panel are mainly made of hard materials.

In terms of configuration, Panda mini has configurations such as reversing image, panoramic sky screen, manual air conditioning, manual anti-glare inner rearview mirror and other configurations, while some models also provide mobile phone APP remote control function, with mobile Bluetooth key, remote car search, car condition query, remote unlock, remote open air conditioner and trunk and other functions, relatively rich compared to the same level of models.

In terms of power, the panda mini is equipped with a maximum power 30kW motor, with a range of 200km and 120km under CLTC conditions. The launch of Geely Panda mini undoubtedly takes a fancy to the popularity of the mini electric car market. The main reason why miniature electric cars are popular is that they are cheap, coupled with cute and small designs, the daily transportation of cities also meets the needs of most consumers, and they can also enjoy policies such as unlimited number and free parking, which makes miniature electric vehicles enduring in the electric vehicle market. In 2022, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV sold 404800 vehicles, up 2.4% from the same period last year, Chery QQ ice cream increased by 661.3%, and Changan Mercedes-Benz EV increased by 20.5%.

Although minicars are very popular, their profits are very low. In fact, many car companies layout minicars, in addition to taking on the task of volume, more is the stimulation of the double points policy. Take Hongguang MINIEV as an example, its bicycle profit is less than 90 yuan, and its bicycle profit will also shrink in the context of rising chip and battery prices. Judging from the information obtained so far, Panda mini has more advantages than Hongguang MINIEV in terms of configuration, space and battery, and its price is similar to Hongguang MINIEV, so it should be able to make a difference in the mini electric vehicle market.
