On February 8th, BMW Group officially released the official chart of the mid-term revised BMW X5 standard axis version (G04 LCI). The new car is updated for appearance and interior design, and the overall change is very obvious. In addition, the mid-term revamped BMW X6 (G06 LCI) official chart is also released. It is understood that the new BMW X5 and BMW X6 will be launched globally in April and are expected to be unveiled at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show.

From the official picture, the new BMW X5 standard shaft version adjusts the design details such as front and rear lamp group, intake grille, front and rear enclosure, rim and so on while maintaining the overall body outline. Specifically, the outline of the new BMW X5's double-kidney grille has not changed much, but the addition of LED backlights, similar to the new BMW X7's "dazzling screen" grille, is expected to be turned on or off separately. At the same time, the front bumper of the new car will also be redesigned, and the surrounding M aerodynamic components will also be adjusted. The shape of the new headlight group is more sharp, and the internal light source layout is also completely different from that before. LED daytime driving lights are changed to a horizontally placed double V-shaped light group, while undertaking the function of steering lights.

As a medium-term revamped model, the new BMW X5 does not make major changes to the outline of the cladding on the side of the body, but adds a more luxurious side skirt trim. The rear part of the car, the new BMW X5 taillight group is also the latest family style, using symmetrical L-shaped LED taillights, the visual effect is better after lighting. In addition, the decorative outline surrounded by the rear of the car has also changed slightly, which looks more hardline.

Inside, the new BMW X5 uses the latest family design, with a 14.9-inch central touch display and a 12.3-inch digital dashboard. In fact, the replacement of a new car with a double screen is also to be expected. after all, the new X7, the new 3-Series, the new 7-Series and other models have already taken the lead in the application, making the overall sense of luxury and technology in the car greatly enhanced. In addition, the new car also introduces the latest iDrive 8.5 car machine system, which supports BMW intelligent personal assistant, remote software upgrade, wireless Apple CarPlay, BMW digital key Plus and other functions. At the same time, the physical buttons in the air-conditioned area have also been greatly reduced, and the atmosphere light logo similar to the new X7 has been added, while the "chicken leg" shift lever has been cancelled and replaced with a compact shift mechanism.

In terms of power, the new BMW X5 sDrive40i and xDrive40i are equipped with a new 3.0T in-line six-cylinder engine and still have a 48V light mixing system with a maximum power 280kW and a maximum torque of 519N ·m. X5M60i xDrive continues to carry 4.4T twin-turbocharged V8 engine, but with 48V light mixing system, the maximum power of the system is 390kW and the maximum torque is 750N ·m. In addition, the X5 xDrive50e PHEV replaces the previous xDrive45e, the maximum power of the system 360kW, and the maximum torque of 700N ·m. In terms of transmission, all models are equipped with 8-speed hand-integrated gearboxes.

In 1994, BMW acquired the British Rover Motor Company, followed by Rover, MINI, Land Rover, Mingjue and other brands under BMW. After BMW acquired Rover, the relevant technology of Land Rover was introduced and used by BMW, while the BMW X5 was officially based on the technology sharing of the range Rover L322. BMW launched the first generation of BMW X5 models in 1999. At the end of the first generation of models, the BMW X5 began to be introduced to China on a large scale.

The first-generation BMW X5 was a great success after its launch, and the second-generation model was not launched until 2006. In July 2007, BMW China announced the official listing of the second generation BMW X5 with market guidance prices of 1.336 million yuan and 895000 yuan respectively. Compared with the first-generation model, the shape of the second-generation BMW X5 has not undergone major changes, but its size has been further increased and more luxurious interiors have been added.

After the development of two generations of models, BMW found that some of the second-generation models have been unable to keep up with the market, but also because all BMW models have been replaced one after another, and adopted a new family-style design. The third-generation BMW X5 went on sale in February 2014 with a price range of 87.7-1.773 million yuan. The xDrive30d is the first diesel version of BMW to be officially introduced to the Chinese mainland market. Compared with the second-generation models, the third-generation BMW X5 has not only changed in appearance and interior, but also upgraded in power system, chassis, suspension and so on.

Skip the mid-term change and replace the BMW X5 directly. In July 2018, the fourth-generation BMW X5 officially went on sale with a price range of 80.99-909900 yuan. It is understood that the new car is based on the CLAR platform, using a new design language, the double kidney forward air grille is further enlarged, the lower air intake and the heat dissipation ports on both sides are more exaggerated, and the body size is also increased again. On the other hand, the N55 engine, which has been used since the second generation, is replaced by the brand-new B58 series 3.0T in-line six-cylinder engine, and the third-generation 2.0T engine has been retained.

Based on the needs of domestic consumers, the BMW Group officially launched the domestic BMW X5 on March 31. The biggest difference between the domestic BMW X5 and the imported BMW X5 is that it is lengthened on the basis of imported models, the length, width and height are 5060/2004/1779mm, the wheelbase 3105mm, and its wheelbase even reaches the level of the imported BMW X7. On the power side, the xDrive30Li carries a 2.0T four-cylinder engine (B48B20G), produced by brilliance BMW, with a maximum power of 272 horsepower. The xDrive40Li carries a 3.0T in-line six-cylinder engine (B58B30C) and is produced by BMW AG with a maximum power of 370hp. In terms of transmission system, they all match 8-speed manual self-integrated gearbox.

In 2022, the domestic BMW X5 sold 50220 vehicles, ahead of other luxury brands' competing models at similar prices. At present, the main domestic competitors of the domestic BMW X5 include Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, Volkswagen Touareg, domestic Lincoln flier and so on. From the regular rhythm of BMW product updates, it is speculated that after the launch of the new BMW X5, the domestic BMW X5 will also be changed. At present, the domestic X5 long wheelbase version (G18) is on sale in China, and its guidance price was raised on February 1 this year, and the new guidance price range is 61.2-789000 yuan.
