On February 10, SAIC Zhiji's second production model, Zhiji LS7, was officially launched, with a total of six new models with a price range of 30.98-459800 yuan.
The new car is based on the same platform of Zhiji L7 and locates medium and large pure electric SUV. It is the first SUV model of SAIC Zhiji. In terms of power, there are two power options for rear-drive version and four-wheel-drive version, which will compete with Xiaopeng G9 and NIO ES8 models. As a comparison, the price range of Xiaopeng G9 is 30.99-469900 yuan, and that of Lailai ES8 is 49.6-656000 yuan.
In appearance design, the new car adopts the simple design style of Zhiji car. The front face is designed with a closed intake grille, and the split headlamp group on both sides presents the "L" letter shape, with built-in LED eyebrows, making the shape more exquisite. In addition, the front enclosure is designed with three groups of ventilation openings, the two sides are equipped with LED daytime driving lights, and the bottom is decorated with black decorations. at the same time, the penetrating vent adds a horizontal visual width effect to the whole front face.
On the side of the body, the roof of the new car is more round, with a straight waistline running through the whole body. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5049, 2002 and 1731 (1763, 1773) mm respectively, the wheelbase is 3060mm, and the positioning is medium and large pure electric SUV. In the rear part, the new car is equipped with a large roof spoiler, and the taillights are designed for penetrating design, which is highly recognizable after lighting. Zhiji Automobile is positioned as a high-end pure electric vehicle brand, which is jointly invested by SAIC, Alibaba and Shanghai Zhangjiang Group. The power is equipped with a dual-motor system, with a comprehensive maximum power of 425 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 725 Nm. In terms of market competition, the new car mainly competes with the new power of car building, ET7, as well as the traditional luxury brand BBA BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6L and other models.
As the first mass-produced model under a new high-end brand and endorsed by SAIC, Zhiji Co-CEO Liu Tao was very optimistic about the car's future performance and personally labeled it as a "treasure car". Liu Tao said: "the treasure is the next online celebrity, the next popular style", so he firmly believes that Zhiji L7 will one day become an online celebrity.
However, the ideal is very plump, realistic and bony. New car traffic insurance data show that Zhiji L7 has delivered only 4654 vehicles since it began delivery in June 2022. As a reference, Zhiji L7 rival Ulai ET7 began delivery at the end of March 2022, with a total of 22910 new cars delivered in 2022, resulting in a huge gap between the two models. According to the plan, Zhiji LS7 will form a "double flagship" pattern with Zhiji L7 after its listing, and Zhiji will launch two luxury intelligent pure electric B-class models this year to enter the mainstream luxury market segment.
The latest figures show that a total of 278 Zhiji L7 vehicles were delivered in January 2023. As for Zhiji LS7 as SAIC Zhiji's first SUV model, what will be the market performance in the future? As far as the current large and medium-sized pure electric SUV field is concerned, including Xiaopeng G9, NIO ES8 and other similar models are competitors of Zhiji LS7, if Zhiji LS7 sales can not take advantage of the chase, maybe Zhiji cars will really be difficult to impact to high sales.
