The official and declaration drawings of SAIC GM Wuling's first all-electric SUV model have been released on Feb. 13. The new car is called Yep in English and Baojun Yueya in Chinese, and is expected to go on sale this year. In fact, as early as last year, at the launch conference of the 2023 Baojun KiWi EV, SAIC GM Wuling Baojun announced a box car with the positioning of the "urban fun trend" SUV, which attracted the attention of many people at that time, and this car is the "Baojun Yueya".

Combined with the official map and declaration map, the new car is mainly square shape and tough design style, which is very similar to the Suzuki Jimni model. The front face adopts through-type narrow-banner black closed grille and is connected with the lamp groups on both sides. The LED headlamp is composed of four horizontal lamp groups with high recognition. Under the new car is the use of cross-country style of the front bumper shape, with the engine hatch raised rib line, the visual impact is quite good.

In the rear part, the new car also adopts the very popular "square box + side door" shape design of the hard off-road vehicle, the taillight group is the longitudinal layout, the lighting shows a circular style, the back door is the side open type, and the rear encirclement also adopts the broad off-road style, which echoes with the front face, and the overall collocation is very coordinated.

Unfortunately, up to now, Wuling officials have not announced the new car interior, and it is not possible to judge the texture of the new car interior. But previous interior photos show that the new car will use KiVi EV's interior design language, integrated central control screen and dashboard design and three-frame steering wheel.

As a mini electric vehicle, the new car is powered by a rear drive, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 50 kilowatts and a peak torque of 140 Nm. In addition, the new car is equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery with a range of 303 km.

Taken together, the appearance of the new car is really surprising. As Wuling's first all-electric SUV model, it is officially defined as "urban fun trendy SUV", but people in the industry prefer to call it "electric Jimney". As we all know, due to the limitations of emission regulations and other factors, Gimney is not directly domestically made, but introduced into the Chinese market as parallel imports, but the high price of parallel imports has deterred many people. For the emergence of "Baojun Yueya", the industry believes that the positioning of this new car is similar to that of Suzuki Jimni, so it may become a replacement for Gimney. 303 km range as a daily scooter is really a good choice. In addition, at present, most of the mini electric vehicles and small pure electric vehicles in the domestic car market are mainly cars, and the listing of new cars is just to make up for the gap in this market.
