If car companies want to launch new cars, they must first apply to relevant institutions for approval before they are allowed to produce, so private car companies at that time can only be linked to state-owned enterprises. Until the release of the "vehicle production Enterprise and Product announcement", with the production qualification to make the private car enterprises justified, Geely Automobile has become the first private enterprise with the qualification of car manufacturing in China.

In 1997, Geely Automobile was officially registered and began to step into the automobile industry from the motorcycle industry. In 1998, Geely built its first car, Geely Haoqing, which is the first car made by a private enterprise in China. Awkwardly, Geely can't be sold on the market because it doesn't have an ID card. Since then, Geely has entered the "fast lane" of development, with Geely, Lecker, Polar Krypton, Geometry, Volvo, Polar Star, Proton, Lutes and other brands, becoming the head of China's private automobile enterprises.

In 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the measures for the Management of Road Motor vehicle production Enterprises and Product access, which explicitly encourages road motor vehicle production enterprises to carry out research and development and production capacity cooperation. In 2018, ideal Motor acquired a 100% stake in Lifan Motor, thus obtaining the production qualification. In 2019, Reading acquired Sichuan Automobile Mustang and obtained the production qualification. In the same year, Aichi Motor invested in Jiangling Holdings, became the largest shareholder and obtained production qualification. Xiaopeng first achieved mass production through Haima OEM, then gained manufacturing authority through the acquisition of Guangdong Fudi, and finally parted ways with Haima. Of course, in order to get a birth permit, many new power companies even do not hesitate to buy through heavy acquisitions, but there are also enterprises that have bought qualifications but can not even build a car, such as Baiteng.

From a realistic point of view, the choice of OEM can bypass the difficult problem of "birth permit" in a short time, with the help of the accumulation of manufacturing technology of traditional automobile enterprises, it can also alleviate certain investment pressure, but from a long-term strategic point of view, obtaining qualifications and building self-built factories is the real solution.

At the media exchange meeting of experts at the China Electric vehicle 100 Forum, Miao Wei, deputy director of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, believes that the use of overcapacity to control access qualifications is poles apart.

"

Chen Qingtai, chairman of the China Electric vehicle Association of 100, suggested opening up the access to the production qualification of new energy vehicles. However, if the news comes true, there will be a new round of volatility in the market. after all, it will be very difficult for companies to announce their entry into the auto market after Xiaomi, such as self-travelers, Stone Technology, Bentley and so on.
