In addition, the new bumper line design and slightly modified headlamp shape make the new car more stylish. The side and rear parts of the body are also consistent with the design style of the BMW i3 eDrive 35L model. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4872/1846/1481mm and the wheelbase is 2966mm.
In the interior part, the new car is equipped with an integrated floating curved screen and Sensatec 2.0 two-color interior, full of luxury and technology. In terms of power, the new car changes greatly. The new car uses the same type of HA0001N0 excitation synchronous motor as the eDrive 35L model, but the maximum power of the new car is 250kW, the peak torque is 430N ·m, it takes only 5.6seconds to accelerate from zero to 100km, and the mileage can reach 592km under the CLTC standard. For comparison, the eDrive 35L has a maximum power of 210kW and a peak torque of 400N ·m, matched with 70kwh's high-nickel ternary lithium battery pack, which has a range of 526km under the CLTC standard.
The BMW i3, a medium-sized pure electric sedan owned by BMW brilliance, went on sale on March 31, 2022, launching only the eDrive 35L, with an official price of 349900 yuan. It should be noted that the BMW i3 pure electric sedan is produced in the brilliance BMW factory and is sold only in the Chinese market, that is, a domestic special model, which mainly competes with pure electric medium-sized cars such as Tesla Model 3 (price range of 22.99-329900 yuan), Xiaopeng P7 (price range of 20.99-249900 yuan) and Lulai ET5 (price range of 32.8-386000 yuan). Judging from the price range of the new BMW i3 model eDrive 40L, the new car mainly competes with ET5.
New car traffic insurance data show that BMW i3 accumulated sales of 14400 vehicles in 2022. BMW Group announced on its official Weibo that the all-electric BMW i3 eDrive40L has been put off the line at the Lida plant in BMW's Shenyang Tiexi factory. This is BMW's second all-electric BMW i3 and the 5 millionth new car off the production line at BMW's Shenyang production base. With the launch of the new BMW i3 model eDrive40L, its sales may be further boosted.
According to the official website, the models currently put into production at BMW's Shenyang production base include 1-Series, 3-Series, 5-Series, X1, X2, X3, X5, pure electric i3 and pure electric iX3. BMW will also launch the new third generation X1 and its pure electric model iX1 this year. According to previous plans, BMW Group expects to launch 12 pure electric models in China this year, covering almost all current market segments. BMW Group plans to deliver 2 million pure electric vehicles worldwide by 2025. And at least 1/4 of the cars sold in China will be pure electric vehicles, and 10 million pure electric vehicles will be delivered worldwide by 2030.
