On February 20, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration announced that Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall, the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations and the regulations on Motor vehicle Emission recall, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and decided to recall a total of 22965 vehicles from now on.

A total of 9498 Lexus GS 250s, GS 300s, GS 350h, GS 300h and GS 450h vehicles were imported from September 28, 2011 to August 22, 2018; 12527 Lexus IS 250s and IS 300s were partially imported from October 25, 2012 to August 10, 2018; and a total of 884 Lexus RC 300 vehicles were partially imported from October 2, 2015 to August 2, 2018. A total of 56 Lexus RC F cars were imported during the period from September 29, 2014 to September 6, 2017.

The reason for the recall is that due to the improper shape of the upper part of the fuel tank ventilation pipe shell (resin material) in the scope of this recall, slight cracks may occur in the course of use, and the cracks may gradually penetrate the shell after long-term use. When the fuel tank is full, the fuel may seep through the cracks in the ventilation pipe shell, resulting in safety risks and unreasonable discharge hazards. In view of the above defects, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the improved fuel tank ventilation pipes for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks and unreasonable emissions.
