The reason for this recall is that some vehicles within the scope of this recall may be separated from the vehicle due to insufficient bonding durability between the sliding skylight panel and the skylight frame, which increases the risk of accidents or injury to other road users.

In view of the above defects, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will, through authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz, check the production date of the skylight and the adhesion of the skylight glass panel for the vehicles within the recall scope, and replace the sliding skylight free of charge if the adhesive force does not meet the requirements, in order to eliminate safety risks.

The cumulative number of vehicles recalled is 20740. It should be noted that this recall belongs to the expanded recall of "Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some imported and domestic C-Class, CLK-Class, CLS-Class and E-Class cars" issued on April 17, 2020. Through the follow-up investigation, the producer confirms that the range of defective products needs to be expanded.
