For Geely Galaxy to announce seven new cars in one breath, the industry believes that under the background of the strong rise of new energy car companies such as BYD, Geely cars with the lack of new energy product matrix are gradually losing the first-mover advantage of their own brands, putting pressure on its overall sales.
At present, Geometry and Polar Krypton are the main supporting points of Geely in the field of new energy, among which the Polar Krypton brand has a total of ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR 009 models, which sold 72000 vehicles in 2022, an increase of 1098% over the same period last year. In addition, the cumulative sales of Geometry brands in 2022 increased by 170% to 149000 vehicles. From the analysis of sales data, Geely's sales performance on the new energy track is very mediocre, and Geely, which has fallen behind a lot of homework, obviously needs to spend more time and effort to catch up with new energy car companies such as BYD, and pushing new brands may boost its market share.
According to the data, Geely sold 1.433 million vehicles in 2022, up 8 per cent from a year earlier, but failed to meet its annual sales target of 1.65 million, with a completion rate of only 86.7 per cent. For this year's annual sales target, Geely has set a sales target of 1.65 million vehicles in 2023, 220000 more than the 1.43 million in 2022 and a year-on-year increase of 15.4 per cent.
