AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/24 Report--

According to the car quality website, Changan Suzuki's Vitra models have received a large number of complaints from car owners, with a total of 102 complaints in the past week, far higher than BMW X3 and Toyota Highlander models, due to brake hardening, brake pump failure, brake failure and so on. The reason for the complaint is almost related to the braking system.

According to the owner of the complaint, the Lingyao manufacturer informed the Beijing 4S store to come into the station for inspection and maintenance, and change the pump on the 21st, but the brakes are harder than before, and the brake strength must be pressed vigorously to brake, girls or those with small foot force, there is definitely a huge hidden danger in stepping on such hard brakes. It is more difficult to start the car in the morning than before, the pedal can not be pressed, resulting in the inability to start the vehicle. There are also complaints from car owners that from flameout to the next departure, the brakes will definitely become very hard, ranging from half an hour to half a day, without touching any parts in the middle. The next time the car starts, it needs to press the brakes very hard. I'm very worried about whether this problem will occur during driving.

In 1988, the first generation of Vitra came out, and it was called ESCUDO,VITARA and SIDEKICK in Japan and its overseas name. In the domestic market, it is called "vitamin milk". With its short, lean and tough shape, it has won the love of many buyers. In 1997, the second generation Vitra officially launched, although the new car inherits the off-road skills of the first generation of models, but the styling has become much softer and is not as popular as the previous generation.

Vitra officially entered the domestic market from the third generation of super Vitra, although the first generation and second generation models have also entered the country through various channels, but it is the third generation models that really let more domestic people know Vitra. In 2005, a new generation of Vitra was launched and sold in China under the name "Super Vitra", but the new car was downgraded from a compact SUV to a small SUV. In 2007, Super Vitra took the lead in some domestic cities, equipped with 2.0L engine and 1.6L engine, with a price of 18.88-258800 yuan. In 2015, Changan Suzuki introduced Vitra into China. The new car is equipped with 1.4T and 1.6L engines, and a total of six models are launched according to different configurations, with a price range of 9.98-159800 yuan.

In May 1993, Changan Automobile and Suzuki Co., Ltd. jointly established Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd., launching a number of small cars, such as Otto, Swift, antelope, Qiyue and so on, which are highly sought after by consumers and are known as the "king of cars". Data show that from 2008 to 2011, Changan Suzuki sales were 102500, 150100, 200000 and 220000 respectively. However, when the domestic market began to launch larger car products, Suzuki did not follow up in time, and sales continued to decline since 2012, and eventually had no choice but to delist.

In September 2018, due to continued losses in performance, Suzuki eventually transferred its 50% stake in Changan Suzuki to Changan Automobile at a symbolic price of 1 yuan, and Changan Suzuki changed from a joint venture company to a wholly owned subsidiary of Changan Automobile, marking Suzuki's official withdrawal from China. At present, Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd. has changed its name to Chongqing Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd in December 2020.

In fact, Suzuki tried to break the poor sales situation by launching a small SUV Vitra and Snapway, but Chinese consumers did not buy it, selling only about a thousand vehicles a month. Suzuki's domestic sales were losing ground a few years before it withdrew from China. In June 1995, Jiangxi Changhe Aviation Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Changhe Automobile Co., Ltd., Suzuki Co., Ltd., a Sino-Japanese joint venture jointly invested by Jiangxi Changhe Automobile Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd., was assigned to Changan Automobile Group in 2009 and acquired by BAIC in 2013. Frequent changes in equity is one of the important reasons for its poor development.

Prior to this, it has been reported many times that Suzuki has returned to the Chinese market, but the official has not yet made a clear statement. If we return to China, it is not clear whether a joint venture or import will be adopted, but from the perspective of historical development, the joint venture between Changhe Suzuki and Changan Suzuki does not seem to be a good choice.
