According to the announcement, GAC-Mitsubishi Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. It is decided that from now on, a total of 1064 Outlander cars produced during the period from November 4, 2021 to September 29, 2022 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall is that the vehicle in the scope of the recall may be deformed when driving on the bumpy road due to the lack of rigidity of the support of the body alarm lamp base, resulting in the warning lights jumping up and down, retractor fixing bolts loose and so on. In extreme cases, the retractor fixing bolt comes off, causing the alarm lamp to fall off and there is a hidden danger to safety. In view of the above defects, GAC-Mitsubishi Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved alarm lamp base and fixed retractor for vehicles within the recall range free of charge, adjust the support position of the alarm lamp base and reinstall it, so as to eliminate safety risks.

Olander is the domestic model of Mitsubishi Outlander and the main sales force of GAC-Mitsubishi SUV. Since its launch in 2001, Olander has gone through four iterations. The car was first put on the Chinese market in January 2004, when Beijing Gyibug Motor Co., Ltd. introduced Outlander, a full-time all-round sedan made from Mitsubishi in Japan, and then put it into the domestic market, but it was really domestically made and sold in China after the establishment of GAC-Mitsubishi (after 2012).

GAC-Mitsubishi Outlander was officially listed in China on September 24, 2016. the car basically replicates the appearance and design style of imported models, but is optimized in detail. 2.0L and 2.4L engines are available in power, and the price range is 15.98-223800 yuan. The listing of Outlander brought a brief highlight for GAC-Mitsubishi, with data showing that sales rose 110.04 per cent to 117388 in 2017 and 22.69 per cent to 144018 in 2018. However, due to the single launch of GAC-Mitsubishi model products, it fell into a continuous decline after a short highlight. From 2019 to 2021, sales were 133016, 75001 and 66006 respectively, down 7.64%, 43.62% and 11.99% respectively from the same period last year, and declining for three consecutive years.

Currently on sale, GAC-Mitsubishi Outlander is the fourth generation of the product series. On December 31, 2022, the new car launched a total of seven models with a price range of 16.98-229800 yuan. The power is equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine and 48V light hybrid power, matching the CVT gearbox. According to the new car traffic insurance data, GAC-Mitsubishi sold 67234 and 29112 vehicles respectively from 2021 to 2022, of which 54661 and 25860 Olander models were sold, accounting for 81.29% and 88.82% of the total sales respectively. According to the data, the sales of GAC-Mitsubishi halved in 2022, down 56.70% from the same period last year, and 52.69% from the same period last year.
