According to the notice, according to the company's strategy, the factory will stop producing CX-8, CX-4 and Atez models in March 2023. As of press time, Changan Mazda has not responded to the content of the online "notice".

According to the official website of Changan Mazda, the models currently on sale include Mazda 3 Uncella, Atz, CX-30/CX-30 EV, CX-4, CX-5, CX-8 and other models. According to the insurance figures, Changan Mazda sold 107602 vehicles in 2022, of which Oncella was 62478, CX-5 was 17511, CX-30 was 11708, Atez was 7314, CX-4 was 6580 and CX-8 was 1276. It is not difficult to see from the data that 70 per cent of Changan Mazda's sales come from Oncella, while Atez, CX-4 and CX-8 sell poorly in the end market, with annual sales of none of the three models exceeding 10,000.

Atez and CX-4 are the former FAW Mazda models. In May 2014, FAW Mazda released the third-generation Mazda Atenza based on the Takeri concept car and named it "Atez". In August 2019, the new generation of Atez came on the market. With the blessing of the new generation of soul design, the overall shape of the new car is younger, the interior design is more concise, and the power is still equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated engines. At present, the Atez model on the market will be on the market in March 2021, and the manufacturer's guiding price is 17.58-239800 yuan.

In November 2015, Mazda unveiled a concept car called KOERU Yue at the Guangzhou Auto Show, which can be seen as the prototype of CX-4. The new compact SUV--CX-4 of FAW Mazda was launched in China in June 2016. the new car is equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated engines with a price range of 14.08-215800 yuan. This is the last new car launched by FAW Mazda before the merger. FAW Mazda hopes that the CX-4 model can take over Ma 6 and become the new sales pillar, but in the end, it is not popular and its sales performance is mediocre.

As for CX-8, it is more like a larger version of CX-5, similar to the new CX-5 and new CX-9 models, with the latest generation of soul design style. In December 2018, Changan Mazda CX-8 officially went on sale with a price range of 25.88-330800 yuan. It retains the internal and external design of overseas models, with a 7-seat layout and a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine for power. As a medium-and large-scale SUV,CX-8, its value in the domestic market is OK, but its product power and brand awareness are very lack, which directly leads to the failure of CX-8.

Some time ago, the car purchase price of Atz and CX-4 internal employees was exposed. The market guidance price of Atez 2.5L Blue Sky revered version was 218800 yuan, and the internal employee activity price of the group was 140000 yuan, equivalent to a discount of 78800 yuan, while CX-4 2.0L Blue Sky vitality version and 2.0L Blue Sky Exploration version both offered a discount of more than 55000 yuan. At present, the internal consumption of Atez and CX-4 has been finished, and it is rumored that production will be stopped after inventory consumption. In addition, on March 1, Changan Mazda announced that the CX-5 dropped 26000 yuan across the line, with the latest guidance price of 14.98-210800 yuan. The official did not disclose the reason for the price reduction, but the market thought that it might be making room for the upcoming CX-50.

At present, Mazda mainly depends on the Ma 3 Uncaila in the Chinese market, which is the cheapest model under Mazda's brand. In fact, for Mazda, the two models, Ma 6 Atez and CX-4, have more important brand boost value. Atez fills the gap of Mazda's only medium-sized car in China, while the emergence of CX-4 has created the conceptual style of "sedan SUV", but for now, these two models that used to belong to FAW Mazda seem to have been regarded as "outsiders". As for CX-8, the monthly sales of less than 100 vehicles also directly declared its failure.

In 2022, the decline in Mazda sales was much higher than that of Toyota, Honda and Nissan, and product singleness was at the core of the decline. According to Mazda's Chinese website, the models currently on sale include Unksera, Atez, CX-4, CX-95, CX-8 and CX-30/CX-30EV, which are basically equipped with 2.0L or 2.5L engines, with 1.5L engines at the lowest price. For Mazda, the powertrain of these models is basically the same, but the only difference is the appearance. It is reported that in 2023, Changan Mazda will be home-made CX-50, CX-90 two models, the former positioning compact SUV, the latter positioning medium and large SUV, and most likely will use a similar powertrain.
